The Estivales de l'Orgue in Rennes

The Estivales de l'Orgue is an organ music festival organized in Rennes by the association Orgues à Rennes. Every August, the festival offers five concerts in the city's churches, providing a unique opportunity to discover these majestic instruments.

Guided tours and concerts

Each concert is preceded, two days prior, by a guided tour of the church and the organ, organized in partnership with Destination Rennes - Tourist Office. These tours allow the public to better understand and appreciate the instruments before the concerts.

The organ and its companions

The festival is not limited to the organ alone: it combines this king of instruments with others such as the piano, harpsichord, or string ensembles, creating rich and surprising musical dialogues. The 2025 edition explored the theme “Orgues au féminin” (Organs in the feminine), highlighting women organists from Hildegard von Bingen to the present day.

A living heritage

By taking place in the churches of Rennes, the festival contributes to the valorization of the city's religious and musical heritage. Each concert is an opportunity to rediscover places steeped in history in an exceptional acoustic setting.
