About Arsonora
In Dinan and its surrounding area, Arsonora presents four medieval music events, inviting you on a sonic journey through the heart of the region's heritage and history. Organized by the Fête des Remparts de Dinan association—the same group behind the city's famous medieval festival since 1983—the event combines high artistic standards, featuring internationally renowned performers, with outreach and educational activities for all festival-goers.
Arsonora — edition 2026
For its inaugural edition, the festival presents four events between October 16th and 30th, 2026: a concert by the Irini ensemble focusing on the miracles of the Virgin, a musical tour of the Château du Guildo featuring the medieval harp, a grand Renaissance ball led by the Into the Winds ensemble, and a baritone-piano recital exploring the dialogue between medieval poetry and music from the 19th and 20th centuries.

Friday, October 16th, 2026
- 8:00 PM — Invictae, Irini ensemble (directed by Lila Hajosi), staged by Faustine Aziyadé · Chapelle des Cordeliers. An all-female program featuring six singers exploring the miracles of the Virgin, spanning nearly six centuries of music, from the Llibre Vermell de Montserrat to Byzantine and Cypriot repertoires. €22 (€19 reduced rate).
Sunday, October 18th, 2026
- 3:30 PM — Musical tour of the Château du Guildo, history enthusiast route, with Éva Fogelgesang (medieval and Celtic harps). €15 (€12 reduced rate).
- 4:30 PM — Musical tour of the Château du Guildo, family route. €15 (€12 reduced rate). Refreshments available on-site.

- 2:00 PM — Introductory workshop on medieval and Renaissance dances · Salle des fêtes de Lanvallay
- 6:00 PM — The Arsonora Grand Ball, Into the Winds ensemble (directed by Adrien Reboisson) · Salle des fêtes de Lanvallay. Costume rentals (adult and child) and refreshments available on-site. €15.

- 8:30 PM — Medieval Echoes, Marc Mauillon (baritone) and Anne Le Bozec (piano) · Théâtre des Jacobins. A recital centered on the resonances of medieval poetry in 19th and 20th-century music, from Debussy to Ravel, including Berlioz and Britten. €25 (€22 reduced rate).

Events take place at various locations in Dinan and its surrounding area: Chapelle des Cordeliers, Théâtre des Jacobins, Château du Guildo, and the Salle des fêtes de Lanvallay. Invictae
The Irini ensemble presents an all-female program centered on the miracles of the Virgin Mary. Six singers bring together nearly six centuries of sacred music, ranging from the chants of the Llibre Vermell de Montserrat to Byzantine and Cypriot repertoires, in a performance staged by choreographer Faustine Aziyadé that blends voice, movement, and gesture.

Musical Tour of the Château du Guildo
An immersive tour to rediscover the Château du Guildo through its soundscape. Accompanied by musician Éva Fogelgesang, the public explores the site before gathering for a musical break. Two complementary tours are available: one for families and one for history enthusiasts.

The Arsonora Grand Ball
The Into the Winds ensemble invites everyone, young and old, to a festive and participatory Renaissance ball. After an introductory workshop, the public is invited to dance to the sound of period instruments in a friendly atmosphere open to all, from beginners to experienced dancers.

Medieval Echoes: The Medieval Dreams of Ravel and Debussy
In this recital dedicated to the echoes of the Middle Ages in 19th and 20th-century music—from Debussy and Ravel to Berlioz and Britten—baritone Marc Mauillon and pianist Anne Le Bozec explore the resonances between ancient poetry and modern musical creation.
