A Friendly Book Fair South of Tours

The Veigné Book Fair is an annual literary gathering held every September at the Salle Cassiopée, a flagship cultural venue in the town of Veigné, located south of Tours in the Indre valley. Organized by the Veigné Festival Committee since 2013, this free, family-friendly fair has built a loyal following of literature enthusiasts.

Over Fifty Authors in Attendance

Each edition of the fair hosts over fifty authors from the Centre-Val de Loire region and other departments. The diversity of literary genres represented is one of the event's strengths:

• Novels: contemporary fiction, crime, romance, historical literature
• Comic Books: Franco-Belgian comics, manga, graphic novels
• Children's Literature: illustrated albums, fairy tales, young adult novels
• Poetry: collections and poetry performances
• Essays and Non-fiction: non-fiction works, testimonials
• Regional Works: books on Touraine, its history, and heritage

A Family-Friendly and Accessible Format

The fair takes place on Sundays in two sessions: morning from 10 AM to 12:30 PM and afternoon from 2 PM to 6 PM. This schedule allows visitors to combine their visit with a friendly break thanks to the refreshments and light snacks offered on site. Admission is free, making the event accessible to all budgets and generations.

The Salle Cassiopée, located on rue du Poitou in Veigné, is a versatile cultural facility that hosts shows, concerts, and events throughout the year. Easily accessible from Tours, it offers a pleasant living environment between city and countryside. The Festival Committee enlivens local life throughout the year and makes the book fair one of the cultural highlights of the back-to-school season.
