Langogne en Fête: The Big Popular Festival of Margeride

Every summer, the town of Langogne, at the gateway to Margeride and the Allier region, comes alive for nearly a week for Langogne en Fête. Organized by the association Les Fadarelles, this festive event has become a must-attend for locals and visitors to Lozère.

Flower and Carnival Parades

The highlight of Langogne en Fête is undoubtedly the flower and carnival parade that marches down the town's main avenue. Starting at 4 PM, decorated floats and costumed groups take over the streets, animated by peñas and batucadas (batooks) who make the town vibrate to the sound of their frenzied percussion. A second illuminated night parade resumes at 9 PM for an even more magical show. Between the two parades, bars, restaurants, and terraces are in party mode with various entertainment.

A Week of Festivities

  • Pétanque tournament (triplette) on Friday evening at 8:30 PM
  • Popular meal on Saturday: grills and giant aligot, an emblematic specialty of the region
  • Flower parade on Sunday afternoon and evening
  • Grand fair on Monday: flea market, garage sale, and crafts in the town center
  • Funfair for four days on the fairground
  • Grand fireworks display to close the festivities

Les Fadarelles: A Committed Cultural Association

The association Les Fadarelles, originally a festival committee, has become a true cultural association working in rural areas. In addition to Langogne en Fête, it also organizes the Festiv'Allier festival and the InterFolk 48 festival, actively contributing to the cultural and festive animation of Langogne and Lozère throughout the year.
