The beach comes to Lozère

Since 2017, in July and August, Mende takes on the air of a seaside resort thanks to Mende Plage. Located at the Parc de Wunsiedel, on the banks of the Lot, this ephemeral relaxation and leisure area allows locals and visitors to enjoy the pleasures of the beach without leaving the departmental capital.

A summer-long program of activities

Mende Plage offers numerous free activities every week, in partnership with about fifteen local associations:

  • Team sports: football, rugby, handball, volleyball on the multi-sports fields
  • Water activities: kayaking and water games
  • Children's games: pedal karts, duck fishing, claw machines for plush toys, slushie machines
  • Cultural workshops: literary and wine workshops
  • Themed evenings: evening entertainment and concerts

On-site facilities

The site has deckchairs for relaxation, multi-sports fields, water games, and a food court open from 3 PM to 9 PM. The relaxed and friendly atmosphere makes Mende Plage the unmissable summer event in the city.

A unifying event

By involving about fifteen local associations in the organization of activities, Mende Plage promotes social connection and associative life. The event is aimed at all audiences: families, children, athletes, culture enthusiasts, and simple strollers seeking summer coolness by the Lot.

A pleasant natural setting

The Parc de Wunsiedel, named after the twin German city, offers a green and shaded setting on the riverbank, ideal for outdoor activities. Located a few minutes from Mende's city center, it is easily accessible on foot or by car.
