Festiv'Art Cirk'Ô'Zik: Where Circus Meets Music in the Vosges
Born in 2004 on the initiative of the association Planète Jeunes from Cheniménil, Festiv'Art Cirk'Ô'Zik is a multidisciplinary festival rooted in the Vologne valley, fifteen kilometers from Épinal towards Gérardmer. Driven by a team of passionate volunteers, this late June event combines quirky music, circus arts, and street performances in a friendly and popular spirit.
A Unique Concept: 12 Hours of Non-Stop Shows
The Festiv'Art Cirk'Ô'Zik formula is based on a marathon day of twelve hours of continuous programming. The afternoon is entirely dedicated to circus and street arts: juggling acts, acrobatics, street theater, dance, costumed parades, and fire-eaters take over the communal stadium for the delight of families. As night falls, the stage shifts to concerts, with an eclectic musical lineup that has featured artists as diverse as Les Fatals Picards, Congopunq, Stratégie de Paix, La Place du Kif, and Ben Rain, mixing rock, ska-punk, hip-hop, and world music.
A Family-Friendly and Accessible Festival
True to its associative mission, Festiv'Art Cirk'Ô'Zik emphasizes accessibility and proximity. Prices remain very affordable, children under twelve enter for free, and free camping is available on-site for festival-goers. Participatory circus and juggling workshops allow younger attendees to try their hand at circus arts, while local food and drink stalls ensure conviviality throughout the day.
An Event Rooted in the Vosges Region
While the first editions spanned two days, with an opening concert on Friday evening followed by the main Saturday event, the festival later focused its programming on Saturday, from afternoon until night. Set in the green surroundings of the Cheniménil stadium, in the heart of the Vologne valley, Festiv'Art Cirk'Ô'Zik contributes to the cultural life of this characteristic Vosges village and participates in the associative dynamism of the Vosges department.
