The first festival dedicated to hip-hop culture in Dordogne
The Festival 24 Carats was born in 2023 from the initiative of Le Rocksane, Bergerac's contemporary music venue, to create a unifying event around hip-hop culture in Dordogne. As the department's first festival dedicated to this artistic movement, 24 Carats unfolds over several evenings in March, combining rap concerts, battles, workshops, and artist meet-and-greets.
The festival's program showcases the current rap scene, offering a platform for local and regional artists while also welcoming nationally recognized names. The various disciplines that make up hip-hop culture — rap, beatbox, dance, graffiti, DJing — are represented throughout the evenings, providing a complete immersion into this artistic universe.
The festival takes place at Le Rocksane, a contemporary music venue located at 14 bis rue du Professeur Pozzi in Bergerac. Established in 2003, this space for performance, training, and creation features a 500-seat concert hall, a friendly bar, and rehearsal studios. Le Rocksane has been a key player in Bergerac's music scene for over twenty years, supporting contemporary music in Périgord.
After a successful first edition in 2023, the Festival 24 Carats returned in 2025 with a second edition focused on Bergerac, offering four evenings at Le Rocksane and one evening at V and B. The festival aims to bring together artists and audiences around the various disciplines that make up hip-hop culture, in a spirit of sharing and discovery.
The 3rd edition of the 24 Carats Festival, the first event in Dordogne dedicated to hip-hop culture, was held from March 13 to 21, 2026, at Rocksane in Bergerac. Programmed by Bergerac's contemporary music venue, this edition offered rap concerts, an open mic, a breakdance battle, and a new youth support initiative, the “Collectif 24 Carats”.
From March 13 to 21, 2026, the 24 Carats Festival continued its rise at Rocksane in Bergerac. Conceived as a festival of urban cultures, this edition covered the various disciplines of hip-hop — rap, beatbox, dance, open mic — in an intergenerational spirit of discovery.
The edition opened on March 13 with the duo Antes & Madzes in concert, preceded by LMA as the opening act. On March 14, an open mic welcomed rappers, musicians, poets, singers, and slam artists, followed by a concert by rapper Double C. On March 19, rapper Souffrance was featured. The festival concluded on March 21 with the Battle Bergerock, a breakdance competition.
A new feature of this edition, the “Collectif 24 Carats” is a cultural and civic program conducted from February to March for young people from priority neighborhoods, young people in foster care, and those in closed educational centers. The festival is co-produced with Sans Réserve, SMAC de Périgueux, and the Battle Bergerock is organized in collaboration with the local association Studio Gao.
The festival takes place at Rocksane, a contemporary music venue located at 14 bis rue du Professeur Pozzi in Bergerac.
