About À la RUE

The Festival à la RUE is a street arts, circus, theater, and dance festival organized every year at the end of June in Menetou-Salon by the association Le Carroi. For three days, the village hosts about fifteen professional companies offering more than 35 free performances in the streets, squares, and public spaces. A festive and popular event that transforms Menetou-Salon into an open-air stage.

Three days of outdoor street arts

The Festival à la RUE takes place every year in Menetou-Salon at the end of June to celebrate street arts in all their forms. Organized by the cultural association Le Carroi, the festival transforms the village into a vast open-air theater where circus, street theater, dance, and music companies perform.

A rich and accessible program

Each edition brings together about fifteen professional companies from all over France, offering more than 35 performances and shows over three days. Contemporary circus shows, theatrical parades, acrobatic performances, choreographic creations, and concerts follow one another in the streets, squares, and public spaces of the village.

The festival is distinguished by its free access: the public moves freely around Menetou-Salon to discover the shows according to their desires and the program schedule. This accessibility allows all audiences — families, children, performing arts enthusiasts — to enjoy high-quality artistic creations.

A village celebrating

Beyond the shows, the Festival à la RUE creates a truly festive and friendly atmosphere. Food and drink areas are set up in the village, allowing festival-goers to eat between performances. Artistic parades and processions liven up the streets, creating impromptu encounters between artists and spectators.

Le Carroi, the driving force behind the project

The association Le Carroi, based in Menetou-Salon, is dedicated to promoting street arts and performing arts. It develops cultural activities in the region throughout the year, and the Festival à la RUE is its flagship event. The festival demonstrates the cultural vitality of rural areas and the ability of small towns to host large-scale artistic events.

À la RUE — edition 2026

13th edition of the Festival à la RUE, from June 26 to 28, 2026 in Menetou-Salon. Three days of street arts, circus, theatre, dance, and music with free access in the village streets and squares, featuring 13 shows by professional companies for 35 performances.

13th Edition — June 26, 27 and 28, 2026

The 13th edition of the Festival à la RUE takes over the streets and squares of Menetou-Salon from June 26 to 28, 2026. This year, the association Le Carroi is programming 13 shows by professional companies, for a total of 35 performances blending street theatre, circus, dance, music, and object theatre.

As every year, the entire program is with free and open access, based on the 'hat' principle (pay-what-you-can). The village transforms into a vast open-air theatre where festival-goers and artists mingle in a festive and friendly atmosphere. Refreshments and food are available on site, also on the 'hat' principle (“give what you can, give what you want!”).
