The Music of Travel in Camargue

Accordanses is a unique festival dedicated to the Music of Travel — music born from itinerant peoples, the world's roads, and cultural mixing. Created in 2022 in Les Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer, an emblematic place of gypsy pilgrimage and nomadic culture, the festival each spring fills the churches, farmhouses, wine estates, and village squares with the sounds of Manouche jazz, flamenco, classical music, Russian gypsy dances, and other itinerant musical traditions.

A Rich and Eclectic Program

Accordanses' program blends renowned artists and new discoveries in various formats: concerts in churches at Notre-Dame de la Mer, evening shows with dinner in the farmhouses and estates of Camargue, concerts on the banks of the Rhône, shows for young audiences, and street performances on the village's main square. The festival also features a gypsy market, photographic exhibitions, and discovery walks through the Camargue region.

Exceptional Artists

Since its creation, Accordanses has hosted leading artists in traveling music, including the renowned violinist Roby Lakatos, a world figure in gypsy jazz. The programming emphasizes the diversity of itinerant musical traditions, from Manouche guitars to flamenco castanets, from gypsy violins to klezmer accordions, offering a panoramic and festive vision of world music.

A Festival Rooted in the Region

Accordanses is naturally integrated into the identity of Les Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer, a Camargue village that annually hosts the famous Gypsy Pilgrimage in honor of Saint Sarah the Black. The festival extends and enriches this tradition of welcoming and celebrating itinerant cultures by offering an artistic and musical approach to the culture of travel. Tickets range from 18 to 75 euros, with festival passes from 85-115 euros.
