International a cappella singing festival in Bar-le-Duc
Born in 2023 from the passion of singers and heritage lovers, the Festival Bar'EnVoix has established itself in a few editions as a unique event in France: the only festival entirely dedicated to a cappella singing. Every year in June, the city of Bar-le-Duc, prefecture of the Meuse, vibrates to the sound of voices from France and Europe.
The festival offers about ten concerts mixing professional and amateur vocal groups, French and international. All styles are represented: classical polyphony, vocal jazz, a cappella pop, barbershop, gospel, world music, and contemporary creations. Artists perform in the remarkable heritage sites of Bar-le-Duc: churches, historic halls, and public squares.
True to its commitment to accessibility, Bar'EnVoix offers several free open-air concerts on Place Reggio, Place du Marché, and the steps of the Hôtel de Ville. These events, open to all, allow the public to discover the diversity of a cappella singing in a friendly and festive atmosphere.
Beyond the concerts, the festival offers masterclasses led by guest artists, giving amateur and experienced singers the opportunity to perfect their vocal technique and share their passion for singing.
Bar-le-Duc offers an exceptional architectural setting for this festival. The Ville Haute (Upper Town), with its listed Renaissance facades, private mansions, and cobbled streets, provides a magnificent backdrop for open-air and indoor concerts. The 2026 edition innovates with an exceptional concert within the walls of the Préfecture de la Meuse, a venue rarely open to the public.
The festival is driven by the EnVoix association, created by enthusiasts of singing and heritage with the aim of organizing cultural events around the voice. The association works in close collaboration with the Sud Meuse Tourist Office and local cultural stakeholders to promote Bar-le-Duc through vocal music.
The 4th edition of the Bar'EnVoix Festival, an international a cappella singing festival, will be held from June 4 to 7, 2026 in Bar-le-Duc. The main venue changes this year: the program moves to the Parc du Château de Marbeaumont, with concerts also at the Préfecture de la Meuse, in Saint-Étienne Church, in Saint-Antoine Church, and in the town center squares (Place Reggio, Place du Marché). On the program: 11 concerts, 9 groups from France, the United States, Belgium, the United Kingdom, and Italy, including the American group Six Appeal, which is traveling to France exclusively for the festival.
From June 4 to 7, 2026, the Bar'EnVoix Festival returns for its fourth edition in Bar-le-Duc. As Daniel Stammler, president of the EnVoix association, explains: "Our emblematic venue being under renovation, we had to look for another site with other remarkable heritage sites in Bar-le-Duc. After several stages, we finally settled in the Parc de Marbeaumont." The festival thus leaves the Gilles de Trêves college to take over the Parc du Château de Marbeaumont, a green setting in the heart of Bar-le-Duc.
The 2026 lineup brings together nine French and international a cappella groups: Six Appeal (United States), Axiom (United Kingdom), Soulkeys and Rebel Bit (Italy), Just After 5 (Belgium), alongside French groups SEDNA, Bleu Minuit, Voxpop, and Fourmix. Bar'EnVoix claims to be the only festival in France entirely dedicated to this modern a cappella style, which revisits contemporary pop (Earth, Wind & Fire, Rihanna, Queen…).
Beyond the public concerts, this edition offers three school masterclasses (up to 80 children for 15 hours of intensive work leading to the creation of an a cappella choir), three concerts for disadvantaged audiences in hospitals and EHPADs, as well as free tickets offered to charitable organizations. Three after-parties bring together artists and the public each evening around food and entertainment.
By car: Bar-le-Duc is accessible via the A4 motorway (Bar-le-Duc exit) and the RN 135. Free parking is available in the city center.
