Country dance, concerts, and western stalls in the heart of Thoré
The Saint-Amans-Soult Country Music & Line Dance Festival is organized by the association Country Thoré Canyon across three village sites: the Salle du Thoré, Espace Gare, and Salle Le Tortill'Art. Three days in early July featuring country dance, live concerts, dances, workshops, country stalls, and food trucks in the Monts de Lacaune. A free, family-friendly, and 100% western event for country culture enthusiasts in the Tarn.
The Saint-Amans-Soult Country Music & Line Dance Festival is one of the most authentic events for country culture enthusiasts in the Tarn department. Organized by the Country Thoré Canyon association, this three-day festival in early July annually brings together fans of country dance, western music, and the western world in the commune of Saint-Amans-Soult (81240).
The festival takes place across three village sites:
This multi-site organization allows for different activities to be offered simultaneously and for the public to be spread throughout the village all weekend long.
Country dance is the soul of the festival. For three days, the dance floors are always full: beginners initiated by volunteer teachers, experienced dancers in elaborate costumes, couples performing line dances, two-steps, and schottisches. Workshops and initiations are offered to allow newcomers to join the floor without apprehension, in the friendly spirit that characterizes the country community.
The dance shows presented by regional clubs and associations are highlights of the program, where dancers showcase their mastery of choreographies in colorful and elaborate outfits.
The festival hosts live country concerts and dances that liven up the evenings. Guest artists, from the French and sometimes international country scene, bring their energy and repertoires blending classic country, country rock, and country pop. At the 2025 edition, the festival notably welcomed artists David Lecaillon and Jonas Dahlgren.
Beyond music and dance, the festival offers a country market with stalls dedicated to the western world (clothing, accessories, crafts), food trucks, and a warm, family-friendly, and 100% western atmosphere. The event also regularly includes exhibitions of American motorcycles and cars, faithful to the country aesthetic.
Saint-Amans-Soult is a commune in the Monts de Lacaune, in the southeast of the Tarn, on the banks of the Thoré. Its name pays homage to Marshal Nicolas Jean-de-Dieu Soult, born in this commune in 1769 and who became one of Napoleon's most famous marshals. The commune is the starting point for numerous hikes in the Monts de Lacaune and benefits from a preserved natural setting.
The Country Thoré Canyon association is the beating heart of the festival. Bringing together dancers, musicians, and western culture enthusiasts from the Thoré basin, it organizes country dance classes (beginner, novice, intermediate) every Monday throughout the year, as well as country dances, before mobilizing all its energy for the annual festival.
