Festival American Night & Day: America in Réalmont

Since 2014, the Festival American Night & Day in Réalmont has become the unmissable event for lovers of American culture, rock'n'roll, rockabilly, and vintage cars in the Tarn department. Every late August, the small town of Réalmont (81120), nestled in the Centre Tarn, transforms into a giant American stage, welcoming over 10,000 visitors over three days in a festive and authentic atmosphere, entirely free.

A car gathering at the heart of the party

The festival owes its reputation to its gathering of American and vintage vehicles, one of the largest in the region. Over 350 cars are expected at each edition: US cars, hot rods, kustoms, European vintage cars, vintage motorcycles... An exceptional parade of chrome bodies and iconic designs from the 50s to the 80s, which amazes young and old alike.

Vehicle owners come from all over France and sometimes from beyond its borders to exhibit their exceptional machines, each telling a story, that of automotive passion and the art of kustom.

Rock'n'roll and Rockabilly in the spotlight

But the festival would be nothing without the music. The main stage hosts rock'n'roll, rockabilly, country, and 50s-60s music concerts every evening, led by local and regional bands who master the art of making crowds dance. The 12th edition in 2025 featured a varied lineup:

  • Friday, August 29 (doors open 7 PM): Taxman (70s-80s tribute), Voltage (AC/DC tribute), Overdrivers.
  • Saturday, August 30 (doors open 12 PM): The Fiftys, Talysker, Al Willis, The New Stringers.
  • Sunday, August 31 (doors open 8 AM): Friendly "Route 66" lunch with tripoux (regional specialty).

The 1950s American atmosphere

The festival's atmosphere is carefully constructed around the aesthetics of the American 1950s: pin-ups in period attire, vintage decoration, stands and refreshment bars with an American style. Rockabilly attire—polka dot dresses, rolled-up jeans, pompadours—is the order of the day, and many visitors play along with the dress-up theme to fully immerse themselves in the atmosphere.

Food stands, bars, spare parts vendors, vintage accessories, and collectibles complete the festival's offerings over the three days.

A free and popular festival

One of the great strengths of the Festival American Night & Day is its completely free access. Organizer FAU has chosen to maintain free entry since the festival's inception, allowing all local residents and visitors from afar to enjoy the event without restriction. This popular choice largely explains the event's growing success, which now attracts over 10,000 visitors over three days.

American Night & Day — edition 2026

The 13th edition of the Festival American Night & Day is expected in late August 2026 in Réalmont. American and vintage cars, rock'n'roll and rockabilly concerts, pin-ups, stands, and a vintage atmosphere will be on the agenda for three days of popular and free celebration in the heart of Tarn.

13th Edition — August 2026

Organizer FAU is preparing the 13th edition of the Festival American Night & Day for the end of August 2026 at the Foirail in Réalmont. Building on the growing success of the event—over 10,000 visitors in 2025—the festival will renew its proven formula: a large gathering of American and vintage vehicles, rock'n'roll and rockabilly concerts, a pin-up and 1950s vintage atmosphere, all with completely free access.

The musical lineup and details for the 2026 edition will be announced progressively. Follow the festival's Facebook page for the first announcements.
