About Festival des Fromages de Meulan
Every second weekend of October since 1996, the town center of Meulan-en-Yvelines transforms into a massive open-air cheese board. The Cheese Festival brings together nearly 300 varieties of cheese from all over France, presented by producers from every corner of the country, accompanied by around twenty winemakers from the main wine-growing regions. Folk groups, traditional musicians, a petting zoo, straw play areas, and pony rides for children round out the program for this gourmet, friendly, and family-oriented weekend, which celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2025.

The Meulan-en-Yvelines Cheese Festival returns for its 31st edition on the weekend of October 10th and 11th, 2026, running from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM on Saturday and 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Sunday. The town center transforms into a massive tasting platter, bringing together nearly 300 varieties of cheese presented by producers and affineurs from across France, along with around twenty winemakers from major wine regions, a dining area with refreshments and live music, and the local town center shops.
Along the banks of the Seine, a dedicated area is set aside for children—featuring a petting zoo, straw play areas, bouncy castles, and pony rides—while musicians, dancers, and performers bring the streets to life all weekend long.

By train: Meulan-Hardricourt station (Transilien line J from Paris Saint-Lazare, approximately 45 minutes). The town center is a few minutes' walk from the station.
By car: Meulan-en-Yvelines is accessible via the A13 (exit 10 Les Mureaux / Meulan) or the D983. Parking is available in the town center and surrounding areas.

Nearly 300 varieties are available for tasting and purchase from producers and affineurs from every region of France: Comté and Morbier from the Jura, Roquefort from Aveyron, Reblochon from Savoy, Munster from Alsace, Brie de Meaux and Coulommiers from Île-de-France, Ossau-Iraty from the Basque Country, Salers and Cantal from Auvergne, Saint-Nectaire, Époisses from Burgundy, goat cheeses from the Loire, and many other treasures of French cheese heritage.
Each producer presents their cheeses with passion, sharing the secrets of production, the terroir, and the craftsmanship that make each variety unique. This direct contact between producers and consumers makes the festival a precious moment of exchange and transmission.
Wines, terroir, and gourmet pairings
Cheese wouldn't be complete without wine: around twenty winemakers from France's main wine regions join the cheesemakers to offer perfect food-and-wine pairings. Burgundy, Bordeaux, the Rhône Valley, the Loire, Alsace, and the vineyards of the Southwest are all represented, giving visitors the chance to assemble their ideal platter, from cheese to a glass of wine, including artisanal charcuterie and breads.
