The Festival des Mômes: Children's Cultural Adventure in Montbéliard

Since 2000, the Festival des Mômes transforms the city center of Montbéliard into a vast playground and discovery area for children every summer. Created and organized by the Collectif Manifest, the Montbéliard festival committee, this event has become one of the most important family gatherings in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté.

A Village of Mômes in the Heart of the City

For four days in August, the historic center of Montbéliard is adorned with over 80 marquees and wooden huts to welcome children aged 18 months to 13 years. Every afternoon, from 2 PM to 7 PM, the Village des Mômes opens its doors and offers:

• 49 workshops requiring registration: Visual arts, music, dance, circus, cooking, nature, science
• 18 free-access play areas: Giant games, adventure courses, sensory spaces
• 15 theater performances: Shows for toddlers and older children
• 8 outdoor performances: Free access in the city center streets

Shows for All Ages

The performing arts component of the Festival des Mômes is particularly rich. The program distinguishes between shows suitable for toddlers (from 18 months) and those for children aged 4 to 13 years, with indoor performances at the theater and street shows outdoors.

A Family and Educational Event

The Festival des Mômes stands out for its educational dimension. The workshops, supervised by professional facilitators and guest artists, are designed to spark curiosity, develop creativity, and encourage children's expression. The themes are renewed each year to offer new experiences.

Over Twenty Years of Success

With its 22nd edition in 2024 and its 23rd in 2025, the Festival des Mômes has successfully built a loyal following among families. The event attracts thousands of families from the Pays de Montbéliard and beyond each year, confirming its status as a must-attend summer event in the region.

A Festival Driven by Collectif Manifest

The Collectif Manifest is the association that has organized and coordinated the Festival des Mômes since its inception. Composed of passionate volunteers, the collective works year-round on the preparation of the event, in collaboration with the City of Montbéliard and the territory's cultural and educational partners.
