Photography in all its forms

The Festival du Florimont was born from the desire of the municipality of Ingersheim, a small wine-growing village nestled between Colmar and the sub-Vosges hills, to offer an ambitious and unifying cultural event. Since its first edition, this biennial festival has been dedicated to photography in all its forms: artistic, documentary, historical, and creative. The name "Florimont" refers to the eponymous hill overlooking the village, a symbol of the local heritage that the festival highlights through the lens of photographers.

An exhibition trail throughout the village

The originality of the Festival du Florimont lies in its exhibition trail spread across several heritage sites in the village. The Villa Fleck hosts still lifes and artistic photographs, while the Pigeonnier showcases wildlife photography, macro photography, and focus stacking techniques that reveal details invisible to the naked eye. The Ancienne Mairie exhibits portraits and works by guest photographers. This trail allows visitors to wander through Ingersheim while discovering the diversity of contemporary photographic practices.

Photographic heritage and local memory

The Festival du Florimont places great importance on the history of photography and local memory. Exhibitions organized in partnership with the Société d'Histoire et de Culture d'Ingersheim (COMVV) present old photographs of the village and the region, offering a moving look at the evolution of the Alsatian landscape. A collection of vintage cameras, assembled by passionate collectors, traces the technical evolution of photography since its origins, from camera obscuras to modern SLRs.

Conferences, workshops, and meetings

The festival is not limited to exhibitions; it is also a place for meetings and reflection. Participatory conferences address current topics such as "Photography and the Law in the Age of Social Media," led by legal experts specializing in image rights and intellectual property. Light painting workshops, supervised by professional photographers, allow participants to paint with light and leave with their creations. These moments of sharing and transmission embody the friendly and educational spirit of the festival.

Ingersheim, a village on the Alsace Wine Route, offers a bucolic and authentic setting for the festival.
