The Burgundy Truffle in the Spotlight

Created in 2023, the Imperial Truffle Festival highlights the Burgundy truffle (Tuber uncinatum), a prized underground mushroom that grows naturally in the limestone forests of Châtillonnais, in the heart of the National Forest Park. The event is organized by the association Ville Impériale in partnership with the City of Châtillon-sur-Seine and the Châtillonnais Tourist Office.

A Unique Culinary Competition in France

The highlight of the day is the gastronomic competition of Burgundy truffle scrambled eggs, unique in France, divided into three categories: Chefs, Amateurs, and Young Talents. Participants compete in creativity to enhance this emblematic dish, under the watchful eye of a jury composed of chefs and connoisseurs. The competition attracts enthusiasts from all over Burgundy and beyond each year.

Market, Workshops, and Forest Discoveries

Alongside the competition, the Imperial Truffle Festival offers a market of local producers and truffle growers featuring about twenty producers and a dozen truffle growers, free creative autumn workshops without registration, truffle hunting demonstrations (finding truffles with dogs), conferences on truffles and their cultivation, as well as inductions by the Confrérie de la Truffe de Bourgogne. On-site catering allows tasting truffle-based dishes.
