Nature and wildlife photography festival in Moselle-Est
The Festival Lorraine PhotoNature is a unique event in Eastern Lorraine, entirely dedicated to nature and wildlife photography. Since its creation in 2016, the festival has successfully united a growing community of photographers and nature lovers around quality exhibitions and enriching encounters.
Organized every two years, the festival spans three days in the socio-cultural halls of Morhange and the spaces of Petite-Rosselle. The event brings together renowned wildlife photographers who present their finest shots of wild fauna and flora. Large-format exhibitions transform the halls into veritable open-air galleries, offering a visual journey through ecosystems around the world.
The program includes fascinating conferences led by professional photographers who share their techniques, field experiences, and commitments to biodiversity preservation. Screenings of wildlife documentaries complete the immersion into wild worlds, featuring films rarely shown in theaters.
A nature photography contest open to all amateurs showcases local and regional talent. Participants submit their best shots on imposed themes, with prizes awarded at the closing ceremony. Photography technique workshops are offered for all levels, from beginners to advanced.
Beyond the artistic aspect, the Festival Lorraine PhotoNature carries a strong message of awareness for environmental protection. By showcasing the beauty and fragility of natural ecosystems, photographers invite the public to become aware of the ecological urgency and to act for the preservation of biodiversity, particularly in Lorraine.
The festival was born in Moselle-Est, a region marked by its industrial and mining history. By highlighting the natural riches of the area, the event helps to change perceptions of this living space and promote green and cultural tourism. The natural landscapes of Moselle-Est, with its forests, ponds, and meadows, provide an ideal playground for nature photographers.
The festival takes place mainly in Morhange, a commune located 40 km southeast of Metz, and in Petite-Rosselle, near Forbach.
