Festival of Tales and Legends

The festival no longer seems to be held: it does not appear in the official agendas of the city of Provins for 2024 and 2025, and the association's official website has not been updated since 2019. An enchanting festival in the heart of the medieval city

Created by the ALCHYMEA association, the Festival Contes et Légendes à la Ferme found its setting at Ferme du Châtel, in the upper city of Provins, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Every summer, during a weekend in August, this free event, open to all, immersed its visitors in a universe blending ancestral tales, medieval legends, fantastic imagination, and an enchanting atmosphere.

The enchanting market and artisans of wonder

At the heart of the festival, an enchanting market unfolded where artisans of wonder presented their creations: elven jewelry, enchanted candles, fantastic costumes, sculpted objects, illuminations, and illustrations. Each exhibitor contributed to the magical atmosphere of the place, transforming the farmyard into a true fairy tale village.

Fire show and celtic rock concert

Saturday evening was the highlight of the festival. At dusk, a fire show «Une Petite Flamme» lit up the farmyard, accompanied by the troupe «Des Musiciens d'un Soir». The show was followed by a celtic rock concert (the group Oubéret in 2019).

Storytellers, role-playing games, and open-air cinema

Storytellers shared legends and stories from distant lands. Live-action role-playing games were offered to adventure enthusiasts, and an open-air cinema session completed the nocturnal program.

Creative workshops and family activities

The festival offered numerous workshops for all ages: making fairy houses, creating fantastic animals, face painting, medieval and Viking wooden games in the Enclos des Dragons, giant soap bubbles, and a giant mandala.

The costumed parade

A costumed parade brought together elves, fairies, knights, witches, and fantastic creatures, offering a colorful spectacle open to all disguised visitors.
