The Liverdun Madeleine in the Spotlight
The Festival of Water, Fire and Madeleine is a popular and festive event that celebrates one of Liverdun's gourmet treasures: the madeleine. This pastry, which is the pride of the town, is at the heart of a day of entertainment bringing together locals and visitors on the banks of the Moselle.
A Day of Varied Festivities
The festival offers a rich and eclectic program that appeals to all audiences:
Gastronomy and Delights
- Contest for the biggest madeleine eater: the unmissable moment of the festival, which tests the most greedy in a good-natured atmosphere.
- On-site catering: food stalls offering local specialties and grilled dishes.
- Madeleine tasting: the opportunity to savor the authentic Liverdun madeleine.
Entertainment and Shows
- Giant Flea Market: several hundred exhibitors take over the streets of Liverdun for one of the largest flea markets in the region.
- Election of Miss Liverdun: a festive and friendly moment that honors the young women of the commune.
- Water activities: rowing and activities on the Moselle.
- Children's entertainment: trampolines, ponies, mini-quads, carousels, climbing, and inflatable structures.
A Solidarity Commitment
The Festival of Water, Fire and Madeleine is organized by the Association des Commerçants de Liverdun (ACL). Beyond animating local life, the event has a solidarity purpose: the profits from the festival are donated to hospitalized children at CHU Nancy Brabois. This charitable dimension adds a beautiful human touch to this day of festivities.
Water, Fire, and Madeleine
The name of the festival refers to the three elements that compose it: the water of the Moselle with water activities, the fire of fireworks and shows, and the madeleine, the gourmet symbol of Liverdun. This original combination creates a unique festival that combines culinary heritage, water leisure, and popular entertainment.
