About La Belle Saison
La Belle Saison — edition 2026
2026 Edition — "Patterns in nature," an all-new creation
For the summer of 2026, the City of Nancy is unveiling a completely renewed show on the historic facades of Place Stanislas. Titled "Patterns in nature," this digital creation was designed and produced by the agency AV Extended, also known for the visual spectacle at the reopening ceremony of Notre-Dame de Paris in December 2024 and the illumination of the Arc de Triomphe for the 2024-2025 New Year's Eve.
Lighting designer Jérémie Bellot and his team explore the patterns and dynamics of living things through organic forms inspired by biodiversity. Symmetries, spirals, fluid movements, ramifications, networks, and flows unfold across one of the largest projection surfaces in Europe, offering a poetic immersion into the invisible laws that shape our environment.
The five acts of the show
- Act I — Flows and chaos: invisible currents already weaving forms.
- Act II — Waves and dunes: wind, water, and light constantly shaping reality.
- Act III — Symmetry and fractals: a dialogue between nature's structures and the ornamental vocabulary of the École de Nancy.
- Act IV — Cracks and spirals: matter cracking, twisting, and transforming.
- Act V — Bubbles and crystals: a harmony we are all a part of.
The artistic team
- Concept and production: AV Extended agency
- Artistic direction: Jérémie Bellot, architect, curator, and visual artist

Nancy is also full of Art Nouveau treasures to discover, notably the Musée de l'École de Nancy and the stained glass windows by Jacques Gruber.
La Belle Saison: When Place Stanislas Comes Alive with Light
Every summer, the Place Stanislas in Nancy transforms into an open-air theater for the La Belle Saison sound and light show. This free summer event, now one of the major cultural highlights of the Grand Est region, projects monumental digital artworks onto the majestic 18th-century facades, combining video mapping, original music, and spectacular light effects.
UNESCO Heritage Enhanced by Technology
Place Stanislas, a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1983 and voted France's favorite monument in 2021, provides an exceptional backdrop for these projections. Its classic facades, Jean Lamour's gilded gates, and the Amphitrite fountain become the canvas for an immersive twenty-minute show, where the architecture seems to come alive before the eyes of thousands of spectators every night.
Artistic Creations Renewed Every Year
Since its inception in 2007 as "Rendez-vous place Stanislas," the show has reinvented itself with every edition. In 2022, the event was renamed La Belle Saison, with creative direction entrusted to the agency AV Extended—winner of the Trophée des Lumières at the 2021 Lyon Festival of Lights. The agency is also behind the visual spectacle for the reopening of Notre-Dame de Paris in December 2024 and the illumination of the Arc de Triomphe for New Year's Eve 2024-2025.
The 2026 Edition: "Patterns in Nature"
The entirely new 2026 creation explores the patterns and dynamics of living things through organic shapes inspired by biodiversity. The show unfolds in five acts:
- Flux and Chaos — invisible currents already weaving the forms
- Waves and Dunes — wind, water, and light shaping reality
- Symmetry and Fractals — nature echoing the ornamental vocabulary of the École de Nancy
- Cracks and Spirals — matter fracturing and transforming
- Bubbles and Crystals — a harmony we are all a part of
Artistic direction is led by Jérémie Bellot, architect, curator, and visual artist, in collaboration with graphic designer Josselin Fouché. The original soundtrack is composed by pianist André Manoukian and musician Ena Eno, creating an organic soundscape that dialogues with the structures of life.
A Unifying Event in Lorraine
With 8.2 million cumulative spectators over 17 editions and 621,000 in the previous season alone, La Belle Saison is one of the most popular sound and light shows in France. The event is organized by the City of Nancy with the support of ECLATEC and the EDF group, contributing to the tourism appeal of the entire Grand Est region throughout the summer.
