The Festival des Musiques Malfamées is an annual gathering for alternative and independent music in Nancy. Organized by the Malfamé association, this free festival takes place every September at the MJC Lillebonne, in the heart of Nancy's historic district. Since its first edition, the festival has established itself as a must-attend event on the Lorraine underground scene.
The Musiques Malfamées program covers a wide spectrum of alternative music: punk, trans-rock, reggae-rock, garage, noise, post-punk, and many other rebellious and offbeat sounds. The festival showcases local, regional, and national bands, offering a platform for artists who operate outside the commercial circuits.
The festival unfolds over two evenings, Friday and Saturday, with concerts starting at 6 PM in the MJC Lillebonne spaces. Each evening features several bands on stage, offering spectators a total immersion in "malfamées" music, from the most abrasive to the grooviest.
Beyond the concerts, the festival offers original activities such as a fiery live karaoke, vinyl turntables, and DJ sets that extend the festive atmosphere late into the night. Friendliness is at the heart of the event, with drinks and food available on site.
Musiques Malfamées embodies a Do It Yourself and independent spirit. The festival is completely free and relies on the volunteer commitment of the Malfamé association and the MJC Lillebonne. This philosophy is reflected in the festival's atmosphere: accessible, relaxed, and participatory.
For several editions, the festival has offered a warm-up the day before the official opening, held in a Nancy bar like the Nirvana Pub Club. This launch evening sets the tone and prepares the audience for the two days of festivities that follow.
