Every first Sunday of July, the medieval streets of Villefranche-de-Conflent are adorned with a magical and enchanting atmosphere for the Witch's Festival. This exceptional day transforms the UNESCO fortified city into a bewitched village, where witches, apprentice magicians, and fantastic creatures mingle with visitors.

An enchanted program for all ages

From 7 am to 7 pm, the Witch's Festival offers a rich program: creative workshops for children (making wizard wands, magic potions, face painting), themed crafts, street performances by costumed troupes, magic and storytelling shows, potion and elixir stands, themed catering, and discovery of magical plants.

A perfect medieval setting

The Vauban ramparts, the cobbled streets, and the fortified gates of Villefranche-de-Conflent provide an ideal backdrop for this magical day. The medieval city, with its preserved architecture and secret passages, seems designed to welcome witches and enchanters. The event contributes to the tourist and cultural animation of this village labeled "Most Beautiful Villages of France".

A popular and free event

The Witch's Festival is a free event open to all, with a family-friendly and festive spirit. Visitors are encouraged to come in costume to fully participate in the magical atmosphere of the day. Car traffic is prohibited in the village for the entire duration of the event.
