Revelles' free and committed rock festival since 1998
The Festival Rock R4 was born in 1998 in the town of Revelles, a small village in the Somme department located between Amiens and Poix-de-Picardie. Originally, the association R4 – Rencontres Rock'n Roll à Revelles wanted to create a meeting space where amateur or developing bands could share the stage with established artists from the French and international rock scene. From its very first editions, the festival has attracted a loyal audience, won over by the event's authenticity and conviviality.
Since its creation, the Festival Rock R4 has championed the complete freeness of access to all its concerts. This philosophy, driven by dozens of passionate volunteers, makes R4 a unique event in the Picardy festival landscape. The festival is also committed to an eco-responsible approach: waste sorting, reusable cups, dry toilets, and public awareness of environmental issues are an integral part of R4's identity. The event is certified eco-festival, reflecting this sustainable commitment.
The Festival Rock R4's lineup embraces all facets of rock: alternative rock, metal, punk, stoner, folk rock, and progressive rock share the stage on several outdoor stages set up in the Espace Plein Air of the Salle des Fêtes in Revelles. Each edition offers a balanced mix of recognized headliners and promising discoveries. The 2025 edition notably featured Sidilarsen, Rïcïnn, Pythies, and The Inspector Cluzo, while the 2026 edition already announces Edgär and The Inspector Cluzo among the first names.
In over twenty-five years of existence, the Festival Rock R4 has grown from a small local gathering of 1,500 people to an event attracting over 10,000 festival-goers over three days. It has established itself as one of the major rock events in northern France, recognized for the quality of its programming, its associative and volunteer spirit, and its strong local roots. The festival contributes to the cultural dynamism of the Somme and offers a free and demanding alternative to the region's large commercial festivals.
The 27th edition of the Rock R4 Festival will take place from Friday, June 26 to Sunday, June 28, 2026, in Revelles, in the Somme. Three days of open-air rock concerts, with entirely free access, featuring a rich program led by The Inspector Cluzo and Edgär, and many discoveries from the French and emerging rock scene.
The Rock R4 Festival returns for its 27th edition from June 26 to 28, 2026 in Revelles, true to its philosophy of total free access and eco-responsible commitment. The first free eco-rock festival in Hauts-de-France, R4 is run by a team of passionate volunteers and emphasizes conviviality and artistic discovery, mixing national headliners and emerging bands in a rural and committed atmosphere.
The 2026 edition brings together an eclectic rock program: The Inspector Cluzo and Edgär are among the headliners, alongside many French bands and emerging artists.
