Traveling and free festival of contemporary music in the Rouen metropolitan area
The Rush Festival is a touring festival of contemporary music organized every June by Le 106, the contemporary music venue of Métropole Rouen Normandie. Admission to all concerts is free (subject to availability).
Since 2023, the festival has adopted a nomadic format: the program unfolds outside the walls of Le 106, in public spaces, parks, gardens, forests, and heritage sites across Rouen and several municipalities of the metropolis. The idea: to meet audiences, offering an eclectic lineup each evening combining local, national, and international artists, headliners, and new discoveries.
Launched in 2015 by Le 106, the contemporary music venue of Métropole Rouen Normandie, the Rush Festival has become an annual early summer event in Rouen. It offers about ten days of free concerts in public places across the metropolis, with a deliberately eclectic program: world music, folk, indie, blues, electro, jazz, soul, local creations…
Since 2023, the festival has left its usual venues to become touring. Each evening, the stage is set up in a new location within the metropolis: urban park, city hall garden, forecourt of an art center, abbey square, monumental forest… The objective is twofold: to showcase the heritage and green spaces of the agglomeration, and to bring concerts closer to residents, including those in peripheral municipalities. The program for each evening is developed in conjunction with the host municipality.
The festival brings together emerging artists and established names from the international scene. The artistic direction favors artists who have not yet been programmed at Le 106, with a focus on discovery. The genres represented cover a wide spectrum: world music, folk, blues, swing, electronic, indie pop, salsa, etc.
All concerts are free and outdoors. In case of unfavorable weather, concerts may be relocated to Le 106 or a nearby venue — information is communicated in real-time on the official website and social media channels of the festival.
The 2026 edition of the Rush Festival will take place from Thursday, June 4 to Saturday, June 13, 2026, over six evenings spread across several municipalities of the Métropole Rouen Normandie. The program includes: world music, folk, blues, electro, swing, and Norman creations, with headliners such as Aldous Harding, Tamikrest, Yuri Buenaventura, Gwenifer Raymond, or CW Stoneking. All concerts are free.
The Rush Festival 2026, organized by Le 106 (contemporary music venue of the Métropole Rouen Normandie), returns for a ten-day itinerant edition, from June 4 to 13, 2026. On the menu: six evenings of free, open-air concerts, in six different locations in the Rouen urban area — an urban park, a contemporary art center forecourt, a circus-theater, a city hall garden, an abbey square, and a monumental forest.
The 2026 edition features several international artists: Aldous Harding (folk, New Zealand), CW Stoneking (blues/jug band, Australia), Tamikrest (Tuareg rock, Mali), Yuri Buenaventura (salsa, Colombia), Gwenifer Raymond (American primitive guitar, United Kingdom), Vera Ellen (indie pop, New Zealand). On the French and local scene: Živeli Orkestar, Alizarina, Kabylie Minogue, Philly's Hot Loaders, Normandie Groove Factory, Claire Days, Adélys, Marianne Perrudin, Zoe Heselton.
In accordance with the format adopted since 2023, each evening takes place in a different location within the metropolis, with a program built in conjunction with the host municipality. Concerts are open-air and relocated to a fallback site (Le 106 or a nearby venue) in case of bad weather.
