Every year in May, for a week, Aiffres—a town of over 6,000 inhabitants on the outskirts of Niort—becomes an artistic playground for children and their companions.

The Festival Tête en l'R program is designed to accompany children in their discovery of the performing arts, from 6 months old. The shows are carefully selected to suit different age groups: sensory awakening for toddlers, object theater and puppetry for preschoolers, circus and storytelling for primary school children, and more ambitious shows for pre-teens and teenagers. Each performance offers an opportunity to meet the artists: discussions after the shows, workshops to discover artistic disciplines, and manipulation of objects and puppets.

During the day, performances are reserved for schools, allowing schools in Aiffres and surrounding towns to benefit from quality shows in an educational setting.
