The popular festival of the town of Aulnay-sous-Bois in Seine-Saint-Denis
Aulnay-sous-Bois, a town of nearly 90,000 inhabitants in the north of Seine-Saint-Denis, organizes its major popular festival each year to celebrate the cohesion and diversity of its community. This free event, open to all, brings together several thousand people in the town's parks and public spaces with a rich and varied program.
The festival is the result of joint work between municipal services, Aulnay associations, and many committed volunteers. It is an opportunity to highlight the richness of the local associative fabric, reflecting the cultural and social diversity of Aulnay-sous-Bois.
The music program is one of the festival's highlights. Local artists and regional bands perform on stage throughout the day and evening, offering a welcome eclecticism: world music, pop, jazz, popular music, and traditional music blend to satisfy all tastes. Street arts are also well represented, with street theater troupes, jugglers, acrobats, and urban dance performances.
A dedicated children's area offers creative workshops, circus activities, inflatable structures, and giant wooden games. Both children and adults can enjoy themselves in a safe and joyful atmosphere.
Sports associations from Aulnay-sous-Bois take advantage of the festival to raise awareness and offer free introductory sessions to the general public. Football, basketball, martial arts, swimming, athletics, cycling, and recreational sports are represented through demonstrations and friendly tournaments. These activities are particularly appreciated by children and teenagers, who discover new sports in a friendly setting.
A gastronomic market showcases flavors from around the world, with stands run by culinary associations representing the communities of Aulnay. Creole, African, Asian, Maghrebi, and European cuisine meet for a true world tour of flavors. Local artisans also present their creations—jewelry, textiles, ceramics, and art objects—making this area a mini open-air craft fair.
The festival traditionally concludes in the evening with a major concert or a fireworks display, depending on the year, leaving the people of Aulnay with a memorable souvenir of this day of sharing and celebration.
The Fête d'Aulnay-sous-Bois returns on June 20 and 21, 2026, in the town's parks and public spaces. This festive weekend, coinciding with the national Fête de la Musique, offers a rich program of free activities for the whole family.
Concerts, street performances, sports activities offered by local associations, creative workshops for children, and multicultural gastronomic stands will be featured for this edition which, like every year, celebrates the diversity and togetherness that make Aulnay-sous-Bois rich.
