The Fête de la Ville de Fontenay-aux-Roses is held every year at the end of May — generally the last Sunday of May — from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Place du Général de Gaulle, the Mairie forecourt, and Rue Boucicaut. Each edition is built around an original theme that gives the day its identity and mobilizes the town's leisure centers, sports clubs, and associations.
The theme: a collective adventure for everyone
The theme chosen each year is an opportunity to create a true collective adventure. In 2025, the festival's theme was Superheroes, inviting all participants to parade in colorful costumes through the streets. In 2026, the theme "The Apprentices of the FAR Force" invites residents to master the elements in the company of characters Auri, Léna, Malo, and Khady for colorful and energetic adventures.
The typical program of the Fête de la Ville
- Morning: Gathering of children from leisure centers and clubs with their families
- Noon: Grand festive parade through the town streets in thematic costumes
- 12 p.m.-2 p.m.: Lunch break with musical entertainment and thematic catering from local businesses
- Afternoon: FAR kart race (or equivalent depending on the theme), team-building competitions, creative workshops, demonstrations
- 7 p.m.: Closing and award ceremony
Fête de la Musique and summer events
The Fête de Fontenay-aux-Roses is part of a broader festive calendar that includes the Fête de la Musique on June 21st and summer events. The Fête de la Musique is celebrated with free open-air concerts, particularly on Place du Général de Gaulle, which hosts local bands and guest artists in a festive atmosphere. City Festival 2026 — The Apprentices of the FAR Force
The Fontenay-aux-Roses City Festival returns on Sunday, June 14, 2026, from 11 AM to 6:30 PM, at Place du Général de Gaulle and in the city center. This edition places residents at the heart of a fun and collective adventure called « Les Apprentis de la FAR Force » (The Apprentices of the FAR Force).
Four forces have always traversed the city of roses: Wind, Water, Earth, and Fire. When they are in balance, they form the precious « FAR Force ». Four young apprentices — Auri, Léna, Malo, and Khady — are thrust into an extraordinary adventure where each must master their force, understand that the FAR Force is never built alone, and restore harmony.
A Free and Family-Friendly Festival
Entertainment, thematic workshops, a parade, team competitions, a DJ atmosphere, and food services will animate the city center all day long. The event is entirely free and open to everyone.

Programme Fête de Fontenay-aux-Roses 2026
Sunday, June 14, 2026 — Place du Général de Gaulle and city center
- 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM: Opening of the City Festival, entertainment, stands, and food services in the city center
- 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM: Pedal kart customization workshop — the 20 teams (4 drivers per team, adult captain) decorate their kart using the kit provided by the City
- 3:00 PM: Opening speech and official launch of the final challenge of the Apprentices of the FAR Force
- 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM: Grand pedal kart race on the circuit set up in the city center — DJ atmosphere and entertainment. Ranking based on three criteria: kart decoration, costume and originality of the team name, race time
- 5:00 PM – 6:30 PM: Awards ceremony, continued entertainment, and closing of the Festival
Kart Race — participation conditions: teams of 4 people, minimum age 11 years or 1m30 (captain born from 2008 onwards, other members born from 2015 onwards). Approved helmet, closed gloves, covering clothing (long sleeves, trousers, closed shoes) mandatory. Registrations open from Monday, February 2 to Sunday, May 17, 2026, preparatory meeting on Wednesday, May 20 at 7 PM in the Salle des mariages of the Hôtel de Ville.
