The largest departmental agricultural festival in France
Created in 1986 by the Jeunes Agriculteurs de Vendée, the Fête de l'Agriculture has become over the decades the largest departmental agricultural festival in France. Each year, it takes over a different canton of the department, thus offering a traveling showcase of the diversity and dynamism of Vendée's agriculture.
The festival offers a dense program that appeals to both professionals and the general public. Among the highlights, the departmental and regional plowing competition serves as a true springboard to the national competition. The spectacular moiss'batt cross (combine harvester race) draws crowds with its thrilling heats, some of which are exclusively for women. Fans of agricultural machinery can also watch lawnmower races and admire an exhibition combining vintage tractors and the latest generation of equipment.
The mini-farm is one of the most popular areas on the site. Visitors can discover the different livestock sectors in Vendée, with sheep shearing demonstrations, sheepdog presentations, and Prim'Holstein heifer competitions. Technological innovations, such as milking robots, are also highlighted to illustrate the modernization of agriculture.
Beyond the agricultural aspect, the Fête de l'Agriculture is a true moment of conviviality. On Saturday evening, concerts and fireworks extend the festivities late into the night. On-site catering offers local products with thousands of meals served: grilled meats, fries, sausages, and local beer accompany this celebration of Vendée's terroir.
Supported by nearly 800 volunteers, the Fête de l'Agriculture demonstrates the vitality of Vendée's rural associative fabric. The association Terre Attitude Vendée and the local cantons of Jeunes Agriculteurs join forces to offer a quality event, accessible to all and rooted in the values of the agricultural world.
The Fête de l'Agriculture de Vendée continues its tour of the department and will be held on August 22 and 23, 2026, between Thorigny and Château-Guibert. The Jeunes Agriculteurs of La Roche Agglo and Sud Vendée Littoral, accompanied by the association Terre Attitude Vendée, are preparing a new edition full of activities, competitions, and agricultural discoveries.
