About Fête de l'Agriculture
Fête de l'Agriculture — edition 2026
41st edition — between Thorigny and Château-Guibert
True to its nomadic spirit, the Vendée Agriculture Festival continues its tour of the department, setting up its machinery on August 22nd and 23rd, 2026, between Thorigny and Château-Guibert, southeast of La Roche-sur-Yon. This 41st edition is organized by the Young Farmers of La Roche Agglo and Sud Vendée Littoral, in partnership with the Young Farmers of Vendée and the Terre Attitude Vendée association.
The 2026 theme: "From the bocage to the city, let's share our flavors"
The central theme of this year's event invites the public to meet Vendée producers and discover their expertise in a department where agriculture remains a primary economic pillar.
What to expect
The site features an exhibitor village and the signature events that have made the festival famous: the moiss'batt cross, a race featuring modified combine harvesters; lawnmower racing; the petting zoo, where visitors can get up close with farm animals; and the departmental plowing competition, with the finals taking place on Sunday.
Plowing competition: two categories
The departmental plowing finals are held in two categories: flat plowing and furrow plowing. The competition is open to agricultural students aged 16 and over, farm employees, and active young farmers. Entry forms can be downloaded from the official website or obtained by contacting Stan Bariteau (07 85 05 95 23) or Alexandre Morineau (07 80 63 91 03).
Hours, admission, and access
The site is open on Saturday, August 22nd, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 AM and on Sunday, August 23rd, from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Admission is €5 per day, and it is free for children under 12. For health and safety reasons due to the presence of livestock, dogs are not permitted on the site. The Fête de l'Agriculture de Vendée: 40 years of agricultural passion
Created in 1986 by the Jeunes Agriculteurs de Vendée, the Fête de l'Agriculture has become over the decades the largest departmental agricultural festival in France. Each year, it takes over a different canton of the department, thus offering a traveling showcase of the diversity and dynamism of Vendée's agriculture.
A rich and varied program
The festival offers a dense program that appeals to both professionals and the general public. Among the highlights, the departmental and regional plowing competition serves as a true springboard to the national competition. The spectacular moiss'batt cross (combine harvester race) draws crowds with its thrilling heats, some of which are exclusively for women. Fans of agricultural machinery can also watch lawnmower races and admire an exhibition combining vintage tractors and the latest generation of equipment.
A mini-farm for the whole family
The mini-farm is one of the most popular areas on the site. Visitors can discover the different livestock sectors in Vendée, with sheep shearing demonstrations, sheepdog presentations, and Prim'Holstein heifer competitions. Technological innovations, such as milking robots, are also highlighted to illustrate the modernization of agriculture.
Concerts, fireworks, and conviviality
Beyond the agricultural aspect, the Fête de l'Agriculture is a true moment of conviviality. On Saturday evening, concerts and fireworks extend the festivities late into the night. On-site catering offers local products with thousands of meals served: grilled meats, fries, sausages, and local beer accompany this celebration of Vendée's terroir.
Remarkable volunteer commitment
Supported by nearly 800 volunteers, the Fête de l'Agriculture demonstrates the vitality of Vendée's rural associative fabric. The association Terre Attitude Vendée and the local cantons of Jeunes Agriculteurs join forces to offer a quality event, accessible to all and rooted in the values of the agricultural world.
