The Fête de la Musique de Rivesaltes: a musical evening for everyone

As throughout France since 1982, Rivesaltes celebrates the Fête de la Musique every June 21st, transforming the town into a large open stage. Located north of Perpignan, Rivesaltes — the birthplace of Marshal Joffre and land of the famous Rivesaltes muscats — welcomes this festival with the enthusiasm and warmth that characterize Catalan conviviality.

Program and entertainment

Concerts begin in the late afternoon at the Parc de la Guinguette, a green space on the banks of the Agly river that offers an ideal setting for summer festivities. The program mixes various genres: rock, pop, French chanson, world music, jazz, and variety. Open stages allow amateur musicians to perform alongside established artists.

A Spanish festival as a bonus

In Rivesaltes, the Fête de la Musique is often twinned with a Spanish Festival, with entertainment centered around Iberian music and dances, recalling the proximity of the border and the cultural ties with Spanish Catalonia.
