The Rivesaltes Fête de la Musique: A Musical Evening for Everyone

As throughout France since 1982, Rivesaltes celebrates the Fête de la Musique every June 20th, transforming the town into a large open stage. Located north of Perpignan, Rivesaltes — birthplace of Marshal Joffre and home to the famous Muscats de Rivesaltes — hosts this festival with the enthusiasm and warmth characteristic of Catalan conviviality.

Programme and Entertainment

Concerts begin in the late afternoon at the Parc de la Guinguette, a green space on the banks of the Agly river, offering an ideal setting for summer festivities. The programme blends various genres: rock, pop, French chanson, world music, jazz, and variety. Open stages allow amateur musicians to perform alongside established artists.

Conviviality and Gastronomy

Food stalls and refreshment stands offer local specialities: Muscat de Rivesaltes, Roussillon wines, grilled dishes, and Catalan tapas. The evening extends late into the night in a festive and popular atmosphere.
