The Saint-Pierre Festival of Marseillan returns on Sunday, June 28, 2026. Organized by the town of Marseillan and the A.M.M.A.C, this traditional maritime festival pays tribute to Saint Peter, patron saint of fishermen and seafarers, and honors the memory of lost sailors. Free ceremony, open to all, from 9 AM to 1 PM.
On Sunday, June 28, 2026, the town of Marseillan and the A.M.M.A.C (Marseillan Association of Sailors and Veterans) are organizing the traditional Saint-Pierre Festival, in honor of Saint Peter, patron saint of fishermen and seafarers. This solemn and festive celebration pays tribute to lost sailors and fishermen.
The morning begins with a procession departing from the town hall, accompanied by the Saint-Pierre boat, to the Saint-Jean-Baptiste church where a musical mass is celebrated. The procession then proceeds to the port for boarding and a commemorative ceremony at sea on the Étang de Thau, with a blessing and wreath-laying in memory of the lost. The morning concludes with a reception (vin d'honneur) offered by the municipality at the Quai de la Résistance.
The event is free and accessible to people with reduced mobility.
