2026
About Fête du Panier
The Fête des Ruelles is a neighborhood festival in the Panier district of Marseille, organized by the La Belle Union association with support from the City as part of its local neighborhood celebrations. It takes place across three squares in the city's oldest district: place des Pistoles, place du Refuge, and place de Lenche.
This participatory, open-access event highlights the residents, local associations, and shopkeepers of Le Panier, featuring workshops, games, DJ sets, and a dance.
Fête du Panier — edition 2026
The Fête des Ruelles returns to Le Panier on Sunday, August 16th, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM. La Belle Union will be hosting activities across three squares in the neighborhood: Pistoles, Refuge, and Lenche. The program includes pottery, gardening, and pizza workshops, graffiti lessons, water games, DJ sets, and a dance.
The festivities are spread across three squares, each with its own theme: hands-on workshops at Place des Pistoles, children's games and an association information desk at Place du Refuge, and music and dancing at Place de Lenche. No reservations are required. The City of Marseille's official notice was published on July 17th, 2026, and specifies Sunday, August 16th; while some calendars previously listed Saturday, August 15th, this is not confirmed by the official source.

A neighborhood festival in Le Panier
The City of Marseille describes the Fête des Ruelles as a festive, popular, and participatory event that celebrates the conviviality and cultural richness of Le Panier. It is primarily aimed at local residents—families, young people, and the elderly or isolated—and unfolds throughout the streets and alleys of the district.
The event is organized by La Belle Union, an association that provides sports and cultural activities for young people in the Refuge area. In 2025, the festival took place on Sunday, September 28th; in 2026, it will be held on Sunday, August 16th.
Not to be confused with the former Fête du Panier
The Fête du Panier, which was held annually in June for about twenty years, ended in 2014 when the Bouches-du-Rhône General Council, its sole funder, withdrew its subsidies. In 2024, the City of Marseille relaunched neighborhood festivals through a 300,000-euro call for association projects. This page previously used the name Fête du Panier, listing June dates that remain unconfirmed by any source.
