The great popular and gourmet festival of the Fensch Valley
The Fête du Cochon de Hayange is a popular and gastronomic festival held annually in September on the Place de la Résistance et de la Déportation in Hayange. Revived in 2014, this festive day brings together up to 15,000 visitors around pork specialties, concerts by national artists, fairground attractions, and shows for the whole family. Now an unmissable event in the Fensch Valley, the festival offers a friendly atmosphere with food, rides, wood sculptors, and live music from 10:30 am to 10:00 pm.
The Fête du Cochon de Hayange was revived in 2014 and quickly established itself as one of the major popular events in the Fensch Valley in Moselle. Every first Sunday in September, the town of Hayange transforms into a vast festive space where gastronomy, music, and conviviality blend for the greatest pleasure of visitors.
As its name suggests, the pig is at the center of this gourmet festival. Food stalls offer pork in all its forms: spit-roasted pig, grilled meats, charcuterie, sandwiches, and other specialties. Grilled meats and other dishes are also available to satisfy all palates. A refreshment stand accompanies the festivities throughout the day.
Each edition hosts nationally renowned artists who perform on the main stage set up in the square. The 2024 edition featured Patrick Sébastien, while the 2025 edition offered an 80s show with Plastic Bertrand, Cookie Dingler, Philippe Cataldo, and William from Début de Soirée. The Philharmonie de Lorraine and local artists like Lilian Nawrot provide musical entertainment from 11 am to 10 pm.
Beyond gastronomy and concerts, the Fête du Cochon offers numerous family activities: a funfair with rides for children, wood sculptors at work, craft demonstrations, and local product stalls. The atmosphere is joyful and relaxed, in the spirit of the great popular festivals of Lorraine.
With nearly 15,000 visitors at each edition, the Fête du Cochon de Hayange has become an unmissable event for the start of the school year in northern Moselle. The festival attracts families and food lovers from all over the Fensch Valley and beyond, demonstrating the residents' attachment to this friendly and authentic celebration.
The festival takes place on the Place de la Résistance et de la Déportation, in the heart of Hayange, offering a generous space to accommodate the numerous stalls, the concert stage, and the fairground attractions.
