With its 12,000 residents, this picturesque town is renowned far beyond its borders for its natural sandy beaches along the river, making it one of the few river beaches accessible from the Paris region. In summer, thousands of locals flock here to swim, picnic, and soak up the sun, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of a seaside holiday.
The town also boasts a remarkable architectural heritage, featuring old stone houses, charming narrow streets, a beautiful church, and well-maintained promenades along the Oise. The Abbaye des Carmes and numerous private mansions stand as testaments to L'Isle-Adam's aristocratic past, having long been a favored summer retreat for Parisians.
Fireworks over the Oise
The July 14th fireworks display in L'Isle-Adam takes place in an exceptional setting. Launched from the riverbanks or the islands of the Oise, the display lights up the sky above the river, with the calm waters reflecting the colorful explosions. Locals and summer visitors alike settle onto the sand to enjoy the show within the romantic backdrop of the Oise river bend.
Festivities on the beach and in town

Families often take the opportunity to spend the day by the water, swimming in the Oise and picnicking on the sand before the evening celebrations begin. In town, various popular events often accompany the festivities. The specific program (torchlight procession, public dance, fireworks schedule) is finalized and announced by the municipality each year.
The natural and cultural heritage of L'Isle-Adam
