The National Holiday in Villejuif: Popular Celebration in the Heart of Hautes-Bruyères

Every year, the town of Villejuif (94800) invites its residents to a grand republican celebration at the Parc départemental des Hautes-Bruyères, one of the largest green spaces in Val-de-Marne with its 60 hectares. This natural setting, located on the heights of the Villejuif plateau, offers an ideal backdrop for the July 14th festivities, combining conviviality, music, and pyrotechnic spectacle.

An Evening Rich in Emotions

The program for the National Holiday in Villejuif is designed to offer a complete and festive evening for all generations. Festivities begin in the late afternoon with a republican aperitif offered by the town, accompanied by food stalls run by local associations. It's an opportunity to meet with neighbors and share a friendly moment before the evening's show.

In 2025, it was the group Le Grand POP, a band with an eclectic repertoire blending world music and great French and international chanson standards, that got the people of Villejuif dancing during an open-air concert starting at 8:30 PM. The festive music created a warm atmosphere conducive to dancing and meeting people.

The Fireworks: "Dream Tomorrow!"

The highlight of the evening is the pyromelodic fireworks display, launched at 11 PM from the Parc des Hautes-Bruyères. In 2025, the show bore the evocative title "Dream Tomorrow!", an invitation to hope and imagination, presented as a succession of gerbs, cascades, bouquets, and luminous figures choreographed to a carefully composed soundtrack.

The Parc des Hautes-Bruyères, with its vast lawns and clear horizons, offers exceptional viewing conditions for the fireworks. Spectators can settle on the meadows with blankets and picnics, creating an atmosphere of popular celebration in the noblest sense of the term.

An Emblematic Location

The Parc départemental des Hautes-Bruyères is managed by the Department of Val-de-Marne. It notably houses the Roseraie du Val-de-Marne, one of the most beautiful rose collections in the world with over 13,000 rose bushes of 4,000 varieties. This exceptional setting adds to the prestige and beauty of Villejuif's National Holiday, especially in July when the roses are in full bloom.

Villejuif and its Republican Commitment

Villejuif, a town of nearly 60,000 inhabitants, is a committed community with a rich tradition of cultural and associative life. The National Holiday is experienced here as a significant moment of gathering and collective memory, in fidelity to the republican ideals that founded French democracy. Free access to all activities ensures that this event is truly open to all residents of Villejuif, regardless of their social situation.
