Traditional Catalan patronal festival with sardanes, bandas, and popular ball
Every year around August 15th, the spa town of Le Boulou, the gateway to Vallespir in the Pyrénées-Orientales, celebrates its patronal festival. This ancient tradition brings together residents and holidaymakers for several days of festivities combining Catalan traditions and popular entertainment.
The patronal festival program revolves around major Catalan traditions:
Beyond traditions, the patronal festival offers various entertainment: bandas concerts, musical evenings with DJs, children's entertainment, and open-air dining. The town's "FestiMag" program integrates the patronal festival into a rich summer calendar of events from June to September.
The Rambla du Boulou, a large shaded promenade in the center of town, is the heart of the festivities. It is here that the balls, concerts, and evening entertainment take place, in a typically Catalan atmosphere that is the pride of this town on the doorstep of Spain.
The Fête Patronale du Boulou returns around August 15th, 2026, with its traditional program of sardanes, solemn mass, bandas, and popular ball on the Rambla. Detailed program coming soon.
