Beer in the spotlight on Place de la République

Since 2022, the Place de la République in Châlons-en-Champagne transforms every May into a vast festive space dedicated to beer. The Beer Festival, born from an initiative by Red Fish, an emblematic bar on the square, brings together enthusiasts and curious people around an exceptional beer offering.

18 chalets and 56 draft beers

18 chalets are set up on the square, representing the Châlons bars and 4 local breweries:

  • L'Orjy: Châlons craft brewery
  • La Bouquine: Local microbrewery
  • La Chat Long: Champagne brewery
  • Wild Badgers Brewery: Craft brewery

In total, 56 draft beers are offered, providing an overview of brewing styles: Belgian, German, and French beers, from light lagers to full-bodied stouts.

Concerts and festive atmosphere

The Beer Festival would not be complete without music. Six local bands perform on stage throughout the weekend, offering a varied musical program. A DJ (Trax Music) ensures transitions and animates the evenings. Promotional gifts are distributed in the chalets throughout the event.

A free and popular event

Access to the Beer Festival is completely free. The event is open on Friday and Saturday from 12 p.m. to midnight (service until 11:30 p.m.) and on Sunday from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. This free access, combined with the central location of the Place de la République, makes it a popular gathering that attracts locals and visitors from the surrounding area.

A successful commercial initiative

The Beer Festival was created as part of the "Commercial Initiatives" project call from the City of Châlons-en-Champagne. Led by Red Fish, this initiative has brought together bars and breweries in the area to create an event that energizes the city center and showcases the richness of local brewing.
