About Furies
An emblematic street arts festival
Founded in 1990, Festival Furies has become one of the most important street arts festivals in France. Every year, for a week at the beginning of June, Châlons-en-Champagne transforms into a vast space for creation and discovery, hosting dozens of contemporary circus, street theater, dance, and performance shows in the city's streets, squares, and gardens.
Châlons, capital of the circus
The festival benefits from the presence in Châlons-en-Champagne of the Centre National des Arts du Cirque (CNAC), an internationally renowned institution dedicated to circus training and creation. This proximity fosters a unique artistic synergy, making Châlons a true circus capital in France. The CNAC trains young artists each year who regularly perform at the festival.
A demanding and accessible program
The programming of Festival Furies is distinguished by its artistic rigor, favoring contemporary creations and site-specific works designed specifically for public spaces. Each edition presents around forty shows, including many new creations and premieres. The festival places a central focus on emerging talent and innovation, while remaining accessible to the widest audience thanks to the free nature of most outdoor performances.
A commitment to contemporary creation
The Furies association, founded in 1990 and specializing in street arts, is committed to making Châlons-en-Champagne and its greater region a remarkable national platform for creation in circus and street arts. The festival actively supports emerging companies and assists artists in their creative processes, thus contributing to the permanent renewal of artistic forms in public spaces.
Furies — edition 2026
The 37th edition of the Furies Festival takes place from June 2 to 6, 2026 in Châlons-en-Champagne. For five days, approximately 40 shows, including 11 new creations, are offered by 22 companies in 17 locations across the city: Grand Jard, Petit Jard, Place Foch, Place du Marché aux Fleurs, La Comète-Scène nationale, Cirque historique, big tops, and other public spaces. Street theater, contemporary circus, dance, performance, music, and hybrid forms make up the program, which is mostly free outdoors.
37th Edition - June 2 to 6, 2026
The Furies Festival returns to Châlons-en-Champagne from Tuesday, June 2 to Saturday, June 6, 2026 for its 37th edition. Five days of shows, approximately 40 artistic proposals including 11 new creations, presented by 22 companies spread across 17 locations throughout the city.
Return of the big top circus
The 2026 edition marks the return of the big top circus from June 2, notably with Chapiteau 29 - La Marnaise and the Cirque historique of Châlons-en-Champagne mobilized to host contemporary circus creations.

Shows are mainly held in the city center and public gardens: Grand Jard (festival village), Petit Jard, Place Foch, Place du Marché aux Fleurs, Place de la République, La Comète-Scène nationale, Cirque historique, Salle Rive Gauche and big tops set up for the occasion.

Practical information — Furies
Access
Festival Furies takes place in the city center of Châlons-en-Champagne and in various public spaces throughout the city. Châlons-en-Champagne is accessible by train from Paris-Est (approx. 1h30) and from Reims (approx. 30 minutes). The shows are mainly held outdoors, in the streets, squares, and gardens of the city.
