Festival Furies

An emblematic street arts festival

Founded in 1990, Festival Furies has become one of the most important street arts festivals in France. Every year, for a week at the beginning of June, Châlons-en-Champagne transforms into a vast space for creation and discovery, hosting dozens of contemporary circus, street theater, dance, and performance shows in the city's streets, squares, and gardens.

Châlons, capital of the circus

The festival benefits from the presence in Châlons-en-Champagne of the Centre National des Arts du Cirque (CNAC), an internationally renowned institution dedicated to circus training and creation. This proximity fosters a unique artistic synergy, making Châlons a true circus capital in France. The CNAC trains young artists each year who regularly perform at the festival.

A demanding and accessible program

The programming of Festival Furies is distinguished by its artistic rigor, favoring contemporary creations and site-specific works designed specifically for public spaces. Each edition presents around forty shows, including many new creations and premieres. The festival places a central focus on emerging talent and innovation, while remaining accessible to the widest audience thanks to the free nature of most outdoor performances.
