Since 1957, the Foire de Montargis — also known as the Spring Fair — has marked the renewal of good weather in the city nicknamed the Venice of Gâtinais. Year after year, this popular event has managed to reinvent itself while retaining its friendly and festive spirit, becoming one of the unmissable events on the Montargis calendar. In 2026, the fair celebrates its 70th edition, testifying to the vitality of an event deeply rooted in local life.

A Lively Showcase of Housing, Crafts, and Local Produce

Located at the Jardin du Pâtis, a vast green space in the heart of Montargis, the fair displays its stalls over several thousand square meters. Visitors discover a complete overview of trends and innovations in many fields: housing and construction, furnishings and decoration, automotive, well-being, new technologies, and artistic crafts. Many local professionals offer personalized advice and present their latest innovations.

Creators and artisans from the region hold a prime position, showcasing their expertise through unique objects, original creations, and handmade pieces. It's an opportunity for visitors to meet producers directly and acquire authentic products from the Gâtinais and Loiret regions.

The beating heart of the fair is its gourmet area, housed under a large marquee. Starting Friday evening, the inaugural late opening invites visitors to sample a wide range of culinary specialties: grilled meats, paella, couscous, artisanal burgers, charcuterie, and regional cheeses. Lovers of sweets will find their delight among stalls offering Gâtinais honey, nougat, chocolate, and confectionery. AOC wines and local products from the Loiret complete this generous gastronomic offer.

Entertainment for the Whole Family

The Foire de Montargis is designed as a family and popular celebration. Each edition features an original theme reflected in the weekend's entertainment: culinary demonstrations, thematic exhibitions, quizzes, and fun challenges. The educational farm, set up in an old-fashioned setting, allows children to observe and pet farm animals — chickens, geese, goats, and sheep — in a rustic and educational atmosphere.

In addition to the fair, a funfair sets up on the Place du Pâtis and the adjacent parking lot for about ten days. This funfair is an integral part of Montargis' spring tradition and attracts families from all over the agglomeration.
