Two cultures, one celebration
The Franco-Moroccan Cultural Festival was born in September 2025 in Pithiviers, Loiret, on the initiative of the Franco-Moroccan Cultural Heritage Association (APCFM), chaired by Hicham Fadil. This founding event is part of the official twinning between Pithiviers and Ifrane, a Moroccan city in the Middle Atlas, signed on September 20, 2025, in the presence of the Moroccan Ambassador to France Samira Sitaïl, the Mayor of Pithiviers Philippe Nolland, and the President of the municipality of Ifrane Abdeslam Lahrar.
The festival spans two days at the Parc de Bellecour, avenue du Maréchal Berthier, and is organized around four main themes:
Beyond the festive aspect, the Franco-Moroccan Cultural Festival served as a venue for themed round tables bringing together delegations from Pithiviers and Ifrane to discuss concrete topics: culture, youth, sport, environment, tourism, and economic development. These exchanges aim to build lasting bridges between the two territories, fostering decentralized cooperation and the transmission of heritage to younger generations.
Organized on the occasion of the European Heritage Days, the festival aims to become an annual event on the cultural calendar of Loiret. It celebrates diversity as a richness and brings together, in a spirit of conviviality and openness, the inhabitants of Pithiviers, the Franco-Moroccan community of the Centre-Val de Loire region, and all curious individuals eager to discover the beauty of French and Moroccan cultures.
After the popular and cultural success of the first edition in September 2025, the Franco-Moroccan Cultural Festival returns for a second edition on September 19 and 20, 2026, in Pithiviers, again as part of the European Heritage Days.
Building on the official twinning signed between Pithiviers and Ifrane, the 2026 festival aims to deepen the ties between the two cities and offer an enriched program. The four pillars of the event — equestrian arts, music, craftsmanship-gastronomy, and cultural exchanges — will be continued and expanded, featuring new artists, participatory workshops, and opportunities for community interaction.
APCFM, in collaboration with the City of Pithiviers and the Tourist Office of Grand Pithiverais, is working to make this event a must-see on the cultural calendar of Loiret.
