About Foire de Mourenx
Foire de Mourenx — edition 2026
The 34th Mourenx Fair was held on Saturday, April 11 and Sunday, April 12, 2026 in the city center, on the theme of Africa. Nearly 150 exhibitors, 15 Mourenx associations, and 14 catering areas took over the François-Mitterrand, du Travail, du Béarn, des Gabizos, Jules-Verne, and Louis-Barthou squares. Free entry.
A 34th edition under the sign of Africa
For this 34th edition, the Mourenx Fair took visitors on a journey to the heart of the African continent. Immersive shows, parades of giant savannah animals, percussion, traditional dances, a fashion show with wax fabric, concerts, workshops, and African catering set the pace for the weekend.
Nearly 150 exhibitors in the city center
The city center was transformed into an open-air market, with 130 exhibitors from all over France and 15 Mourenx associations, alongside local merchants and restaurateurs. Exhibitors were set up outdoors in the streets (9 € per linear meter) and under a large covered marquee (65 € for a 3 × 3 m pitch). Registrations had to be submitted to the Commerce department of the Communauté de Communes de Lacq-Orthez before March 1, 2026.
An African village at the heart of the event
An African village brought together several specialized associations and exhibitors: Les Trois Mères, Awawani, Look Afro Chic, Hawa Ducasse, the food truck Kezako. Craft demonstrations, tastings of African specialties, storytelling, music, and dance were offered continuously.
An intergenerational fair
Children were not forgotten, with a mini funfair (paid) set up on site, creative workshops around Africa (hair braiding, wooden games, African riddles, music workshops) animated by the City's youth service and by Mourenx Jeunes Culture et Loisirs. The Centre social Lo Solan held a marquee in Place du Béarn with pottery demonstrations and collective activities.
A live broadcast
Radio ICI Béarn Bigorre (formerly France Bleu) broadcast a live show from the fair on Sunday, April 12, from 10 am to 12 pm.

Organized by the Communauté de Communes de Lacq-Orthez (CCLO) in partnership with the City, this event attracts around 30,000 visitors each year, making it the second largest fair in the department by attendance.
Over 200 exhibitors
The center of Mourenx is transformed into a vast open-air market with over 200 carefully selected exhibitors:
- Gastronomy: Béarn regional products, foie gras, cheeses, cured meats, honeys, confits, and regional specialties
- Crafts: Handmade creations, pottery, jewelry, leather goods, and decorative items
- Home and decoration: Solutions for the home, garden, landscaping, and renovation
- Fashion and accessories: Clothing, shoes, and designer accessories
- Well-being: Natural products, artisanal cosmetics, and care products
A festive annual theme
Each edition of the Foire de Mourenx is centered around an original theme that gives the event a unique identity. In 2025, the theme "À l'abordage !" (All aboard!) immersed visitors in the world of pirates, with sword fights, an immersive camp, and staged reenactments provided by the Cercle d'Escrime Ancienne de Marly-le-Roi.
Activities and shows
The weekend is punctuated by a rich and varied program of activities:
- Street performances: Artists, acrobats, and street theater companies
- Concerts: Live music on the squares and in the streets
- Children's workshops: Climbing course, laser game, remote-controlled boats, educational farm, creative workshops, and treasure hunts
- Digital activities: Activities at the media library and the Cyberbase of MI[X]
Mourenx, a new town in Béarn
Mourenx is a new town created in the 1960s to accommodate workers from the Lacq gas field. Characterized by its unique modernist architecture, the town has reinvented itself and become a dynamic cultural and commercial hub in Béarn.
