Created in 1431, the Foires d'Orval are a major historical event celebrating their 500th edition in 2025. For nearly six centuries, this fair has been held on the 3rd Monday of October and lasts for 9 days, perpetuating a commercial and festive tradition rooted in the identity of Saint-Amand-Montrond.
The Foires d'Orval transform Saint-Amand-Montrond into a gigantic party space. Visitors can stroll through the streets, wander during the traditional grand unpacking, attend concerts, taste local products or enjoy cotton candy. Monday, the beating heart of the event, welcomes hundreds of stallholders and travelling merchants.
Fairground rides are set up in several squares in the town: Place de la République, Place Jean-Girault, Cours Manuel and Cours Fleurus. For the 2025 edition, a 25-meter Ferris wheel will be installed on Place Jean-Girault, offering a panoramic view of the town and the festivities.
