Masgot Hante — edition 2026
Masgot Hanté is the Halloween event hosted by the Les Amis de la Pierre de Masgot association in the sculpted village of Masgot, located in Fransèches (Creuse). Due to a shortage of volunteers, the traditional event did not take place in 2025; as of August 19, 2026, neither the association's website nor its social media channels have announced any dates for a 2026 edition.
Launched in 2014, Masgot Hanté had become a staple of the All Saints' Day season in Creuse: every year, spider webs, tombstones, and costumed volunteers would transform the narrow streets of the village sculpted by François Michaud.
In 2025, the Les Amis de la Pierre de Masgot association could not gather enough volunteers to host the usual event and instead offered a scaled-back version during the All Saints' school holidays (source: France Bleu Creuse, October 31, 2025).
As of August 19, 2026, the association's website and social media have yet to publish any dates or programs for a potential 2026 edition; this page will be updated as soon as they are announced.

Masgot Hante, Halloween in the heart of Creuse heritage
Each year at the end of October, the village of Masgot in the commune of Franseches transforms to host Masgot Hante. This unique event in Creuse blends heritage and Halloween in an exceptional setting: that of the village with sculptures by Francois Michaud, a 19th-century stonemason whose works adorn the facades of the houses.
Activities for the whole family
During the weekend, visitors discover a route decorated with spiderwebs, tombstones, and sound effects. More than ten activities are offered: street performances, creative workshops, storytelling, and night walks. Volunteers, dressed as vampires, witches, and fantastic creatures, liven up the village alleys for the delight of young and old alike.
An event driven by volunteers
Organized by the association Les Amis de la Pierre de Masgot, the event relies on the commitment of dozens of volunteers who set up decorations and run the activities. Masgot Hante has become a must-attend event for All Saints' Day in Creuse, contributing to the influence of this unique heritage village.
