A Thirty-Year Tradition Around Apples
Since 1994, the Fête de la Pomme de Sainte-Feyre has marked the start of autumn in Creuse with a popular celebration dedicated to the king of Limousin orchards' fruit. Every year, on the first Sunday in November, the village of Sainte-Feyre welcomes thousands of visitors who come to discover old apple varieties, taste freshly pressed apple juice, and enjoy a warm and family-friendly atmosphere.
Pressing, Tastings, and Local Market
The highlight of the event remains the live pressing of apples, where visitors can observe the transformation of the fruit into juice and taste the result immediately. No less than ten tons of apples are pressed and bottled at each edition. A market of local producers also offers fruit trees, artisanal sausages, jams, and other Creuse specialties. The local butcher shop opens its doors specially for the occasion.
Growing Popular Success
With about fifty exhibitors and ever-increasing attendance, the Fête de la Pomme has established itself as one of the most popular events in Creuse. A flea market for individuals complements the offerings, and families appreciate the friendly atmosphere that prevails throughout the day. "It's a huge success," the volunteer organizers rejoice each year.
