Grain de Sel — edition 2026
Grain de Sel 2026: See You in May
The Grain de Sel Festival returns in May 2026 to the esplanade Jean Moulin in Castelsarrasin. True to its proven formula — two stages, an eclectic program, and on-site camping — the festival once again promises three days of contemporary music in a festive and friendly atmosphere.
The 2026 lineup, to be announced in early 2026, is expected to follow in the footsteps of previous editions: national headliners on the main stage, and discoveries and regional talents on the second stage, which offers free access. The association Les Amis de Pierre is working to assemble a program that reflects the diversity of contemporary music — pop, rock, electro, hip-hop, variety — to satisfy the widest possible audience.

Castelsarrasin in Music
In the heart of the alluvial plain between the Garonne and Tarn rivers, Castelsarrasin vibrates every spring to the rhythm of the Grain de Sel Festival, its major contemporary music event. Supported by the association Les Amis de Pierre, this three-day festival has established itself as one of the most popular cultural events in Tarn-et-Garonne, bringing together over 8,000 spectators each year on the esplanade Jean Moulin.
Created by contemporary music enthusiasts who wanted to offer the public of the Castelsarrasin area a quality festival at affordable prices, Grain de Sel has found its place in a competitive regional music scene. Its positioning — broad appeal and eclectic, featuring national headliners and local discoveries — has allowed it to build a loyal, multi-generational audience from across the department and neighboring regions.
Two Stages, Sixteen Artists
The festival's organization relies on a setup with two complementary stages. The main stage, which hosts headliners in the evening, offers large-scale concerts with renowned national artists. The second stage, accessible free of charge, is dedicated to discoveries: local and regional bands, young talents from the Occitan scene, and emerging contemporary music artists.
This dual setup allows the festival to pursue two complementary ambitions: to offer the general public the chance to see artists they can otherwise only discover in major cities, while supporting local scenes and fostering the emergence of new talents. Over sixteen artists perform at each edition, with concerts running from Friday to Sunday evening.
A Summer Setting by the Garonne
The esplanade Jean Moulin, located in the heart of Castelsarrasin, is an ideal open-air space to host a contemporary music festival. Concert evenings generally start at 6:30 PM for the opening acts, with the first concerts at 7:30 PM, and continue until 2:30 AM. This late schedule, typical of summer festivals in the Southwest, allows festival-goers to enjoy both the early evening atmosphere and the major late-night concerts.
The festival site offers a complete range of services around the concerts: food stalls, bars, and relaxation areas. A campsite is available on-site for festival-goers wishing to enjoy the festival for several days without transportation constraints.
A Broad and Eclectic Program
The Grain de Sel Festival is distinguished by its deliberately eclectic programming, embracing all genres of contemporary music: pop, rock, hip-hop, electro, French variety, reggae, funk... The goal is to offer a program at each edition that can satisfy very different musical tastes, in order to attract the widest possible audience.
Past editions have featured artists as diverse as Louis Bertignac (rock), KYO (pop-rock), Flavia Coelho (world/funk), Laurent Wolf (electro), Demi Portion (rap), 47Ter (rap), and La Caravane Passe (festive/world). This diversity is the distinctive mark of Grain de Sel: each evening holds its own surprises and atmosphere.
A Festival Rooted in its Territory
The organizing association, Les Amis de Pierre, has set itself the mission of promoting contemporary music culture in Castelsarrasin and the Tarn-et-Garonne region. The festival is supported by the town of Castelsarrasin, the Communauté de Communes des Deux Rives, the Department of Tarn-et-Garonne, and the Occitanie Region.
Beyond the festival itself, the association develops artistic education programs with schools and supports local music projects throughout the year. Grain de Sel is thus much more than an annual event: it is a permanent cultural player in the region, contributing to the development of the music industry in Tarn-et-Garonne.
