Graines d'Images Junior: Cinema for young and old

Created in 1999, the Graines d'Images Junior festival is the annual event for young audience cinema in Sarthe. Supported by the association Graines d'Images, a departmental network comprising nine cinemas and a traveling circuit, this festival offers a selection of art-house films suitable for children from 2 years old every autumn.

A demanding and accessible selection

Each edition presents a dozen carefully selected films, including several previews, to amaze young audiences and open their eyes to the world. Activities, feature films, short films, documentaries, and animated films make up a rich and varied program that celebrates cultural diversity and cinematic creativity.

A traveling festival close to its audience

Graines d'Images Junior is distinguished by its traveling nature. The festival unfolds in partner cinemas throughout the Sarthe department: at the Cinéma Les Cinéastes in Le Mans, but also in La Flèche, Fresnay-sur-Sarthe, Sablé-sur-Sarthe, and other towns. This itinerant approach makes art-house cinema accessible to young audiences far from major urban centers.

With a single price of 4.50 euros, the festival makes cinema accessible to all families. Screenings are accompanied by fun and educational activities that extend the cinematic experience and encourage children to become true little cinephiles.
