Granville Fête le Nautisme: An immersion into the maritime world

Granville Fête le Nautisme was born from a desire to refresh and expand upon the traditional Granville Nautical Flea Market. Organized by the Association des Plaisanciers de Hérel (APH) in partnership with the SPL des Ports de la Manche and 8 Milles Nautic, and supported by the City of Granville, the Granville Terre & Mer community of communes, and the Département de la Manche, this three-day gathering turns the Port of Hérel into a massive nautical village open to all sea lovers. It is held over the Pentecost weekend: May 18th to 20th for the 2024 inaugural edition, and June 7th to 9th for 2025.

A land and sea event

The uniqueness of Granville Fête le Nautisme lies in its program, which unfolds both on land and at sea. Along the Promenade Docteur Lavat, an exhibition area hosts equipment manufacturers, engine specialists, and nautical professionals. In the visitor basin, new and used boats are displayed afloat or on trailers, with some available for sea trials. Boating enthusiasts can discover the latest innovations while enjoying the setting of the Port of Hérel and the Bay of Granville.

Nautical flea market and great deals

The nautical flea market and boat jumble remain at the heart of the event. Both private individuals and professionals offer hardware, navigation equipment, sailing apparel, marine antiques, models, and everything related to the nautical world. It is the perfect opportunity to hunt for bargains and connect with fellow sailing and sea enthusiasts.

Conferences, workshops, and entertainment

The program also includes conferences and debates on maritime topics, knot-tying workshops, rescue demonstrations led by the SNSM, and live music from local bands. Families can enjoy sea baptisms, radio-controlled boat piloting, and bouncy castles. Admission is free, and the event attracts between 12,000 and 13,000 visitors over the three days.
