Concerts and world music on the terrace of the "Petit Versailles lorrain"
The Guinguettes du Château de Lunéville, named "La Guinguette d'Élisabeth", are a series of summer evenings organized every summer on the Grande Terrasse of the Château de Lunéville, nicknamed the "Petit Versailles lorrain". Every Saturday in July and August, the public is invited to enjoy world contemporary music concerts, family shows, DJ sets, a refreshment bar, and food trucks, with the monumental facades of the castle as a backdrop. The event is free and open to all.
The Guinguettes du Château de Lunéville, known as "La Guinguette d'Élisabeth", are one of the highlights of the summer season at the Château de Lunéville. This 18th-century architectural gem, built under Duke Leopold I and enhanced by Stanislas Leszczynski, offers a majestic setting for open-air musical evenings that blend conviviality, artistic discovery, and heritage.
Every Saturday in July and August, the castle's Grande Terrasse transforms into an open-air guinguette. With the monumental facades as a backdrop, the public can discover an eclectic program of world contemporary music: Latin music, gypsy jazz, Balkan music, afrobeat, reggae, Asian music, and many other cosmopolitan sounds. Family shows in the early evening allow younger audiences to enjoy the event before the concerts.
DJ sets complete the musical program, creating a festive and danceable atmosphere that extends into the warm summer evenings. The 2025 edition, titled "Cap sur l'Asie (ou presque...)", explored the sounds and cultures of the Asian continent through an original and exotic program.
The spirit of the guinguette is at the heart of the event. A refreshment bar and food trucks offer cold drinks, cocktails, craft beers, and a variety of light meals. Visitors can freely settle on the terrace, on lounge chairs or directly on the grass, to enjoy the concerts in a relaxed and joyful atmosphere. It's a moment of sharing and meeting, open to all audiences and all generations.
The Guinguettes are part of the cultural season of the Château de Lunéville, supported by the Conseil départemental de Meurthe-et-Moselle. After a successful first experience in 2024 on the terrace of the ducal apartments, the event expanded in 2025 by taking over the Grande Terrasse, with the castle's facades as a spectacular backdrop. This growth reflects the event's public success.
