The Pop Culture Event of Southern France

HeroFestival Marseille is the largest event dedicated to pop culture in the south of France. Every year in November, the Parc Chanot, Marseille's convention and exhibition center, transforms into a vast fantasy universe of over 25,000 m² where heroes from manga, comics, graphic novels, cinema, TV series, and video games converge. Created in 2014, the festival has established itself over a decade as an unmissable event for geek culture enthusiasts.

Prestigious Guests and Autograph Sessions

Each edition of HeroFestival welcomes prestigious guests from the worlds of cinema, animation, manga, and comic books. Actors from cult series, voice actors, illustrators, mangakas, and video game creators meet their fans for autograph sessions, panels, and conferences. These exclusive encounters are a major draw of the festival, allowing visitors to get a behind-the-scenes look at their favorite works.

Cosplay, Gaming, and Immersive Experiences

Cosplay plays a central role at HeroFestival, featuring a major cosplay competition that pits the best amateur and semi-professional costume designers in the region against each other. The gaming area offers video game tournaments, preview demonstrations, and free play zones on consoles and PCs. Immersive experiences allow visitors to dive into the universes of their favorite franchises with life-size sets, themed escape games, and virtual reality activities. Younger attendees are not forgotten, with a dedicated family area.

An Expanding Event

Since its creation in 2014, HeroFestival has continuously grown, evolving from a niche event to a major convention attracting tens of thousands of visitors each year. In 2024, the 10th edition celebrated a decade of pop culture passion with an exceptional program. The festival also expanded with an edition in Grenoble, confirming its reach beyond Marseille. HeroFestival has become a key player in Marseille's cultural scene, contributing to the city's tourism appeal during the autumn season.
