I'm from Rennes — edition 2026
The 15th edition of the I'm from Rennes festival takes place from September 9 to 12, 2026, in Rennes. After a 2025 edition at the Thabor park disrupted by rain, the association is bringing the festival back to the Salle de la Cité: 15 concerts featuring local artists, a secret venue concert, and two beer-themed pre-events at local breweries. The three nights at La Cité are now ticketed, at €10 in advance.
2026 Edition: Returning to the Salle de la Cité
The 15th edition of I'm from Rennes runs from September 9 to 12, 2026, with a pre-festival event starting September 4 at the Sainte-Colombe brewery. The festival is leaving the Thabor park for the Salle de la Cité, near Place Sainte-Anne, where it will host three nights on September 10, 11, and 12. "It's a space we really appreciate. It's also a refuge for us, as it's where we had our first stage experiences," organizer Cédric Bouchu explained to Rennes Infos Autrement. The team expects up to 800 people per night.
Fifteen concerts are scheduled, all featuring artists from the Rennes area: new jazz, R'n'B, psych rock, electro, jazz pop, rap, noisy pop, and DJ sets. "What matters to our association is offering a varied program to showcase the richness of Rennes' talent and reach a wide audience," adds Cédric Bouchu. On September 9, the secret concert returns: the audience meets with the team, who then guide them to a location whose address is not disclosed. Ellie James will perform her synth pop there.
The end of free entry
Until now, the festival has always insisted on being free. The 2025 edition and budget cuts have led the association to charge for the three nights at La Cité: €10 in advance, €12 at the door, and €5 for "Sortir" cardholders. The two beerfores remain free. "2026 will be a year of change. This edition must lay healthy, more solid foundations so that the festival and the association can look forward to the coming years with peace of mind," the association wrote on its website.

I'm from Rennes is a contemporary music festival dedicated exclusively to artists and bands from Rennes. Established in 2012, it celebrates its 15th edition in 2026. The concept: showcasing the local scene in unconventional venues rather than traditional concert halls. Over the years, the festival has taken place in the Thabor park, Les Champs Libres, libraries, private apartments, breweries, skateparks, a swimming pool, a decommissioned prison, and even metro stations.
A new format for 2026
Following a 2025 edition at the Thabor park that was hampered by rain and financial challenges, the organizers are bringing the festival to the Salle de la Cité for three nights, from September 10th to 12th, 2026, preceded by a secret concert on the 9th. These three nights will be ticketed at €10 in advance, marking a shift from the festival's long-standing free entry policy. The two 'beerfores' organized with local brewers, however, remain free of charge.
