The festival of independent hip-hop discoveries in Strasbourg
Since 2013, the Ind'Hip'Hop Festival has established itself as a benchmark for the independent hip-hop scene in France. Supported by the Pelpass association, a major cultural player in Strasbourg's music scene, this festival each year offers an exceptional showcase for artists who operate on the fringes of commercial circuits, prioritizing authenticity, creativity, and artistic independence.
Ind'Hip'Hop's originality lies in its format: the festival unfolds over a week, generally from late March to early April, taking over several emblematic venues of Strasbourg's cultural scene. The Péniche Mécanique, a concert boat moored on the Ill river, the Maison Bleue, a contemporary music venue in Schiltigheim, the Molodoï, a temple of rock and alternative cultures, the Fat Black Pussycat, the Blue Moon, the Laab and the Espace Django Reinhardt in Neudorf: each evening offers a different atmosphere, from an intimate club to a concert hall.
Ind'Hip'Hop's strength lies in its programming, which mixes artists from the international scene (US rap, British hip-hop), figures of independent French rap, and local talents from Strasbourg and Alsace. Over the years, the festival has hosted artists like The Pharcyde, legends of American West Coast hip-hop, alongside beatmakers, MCs, and live groups from all over France and Europe.
Beyond music, Ind'Hip'Hop is committed to promoting urban cultures in the broadest sense. The festival contributes to the vitality of Strasbourg's musical ecosystem by fostering encounters between artists, industry professionals, and the public. The legendary freestyle sessions at the Molodoï exemplify this desire to create spaces for free expression and sharing.
With over ten editions to its name, Ind'Hip'Hop has helped make Strasbourg a recognized hub for hip-hop culture in France. The festival has evolved while retaining its DNA: a sharp program, unique venues, a warm atmosphere, and the conviction that independent hip-hop has its rightful place in the Alsatian and French cultural landscape.
The Ind'Hip'Hop Festival continues its exploration of the independent hip-hop scene from March 26 to April 4, 2026. The program, announced in February, will once again take over emblematic venues in Strasbourg for a week of concerts, meetings, and musical discoveries in the heart of the Alsatian capital.
The festival generally takes place over a week at the end of March - beginning of April. Exact dates and program are announced at the beginning of the year on the festival's social media.
